Background

Jiang Xuanran is descended from Jiang Huaiwang, Shencheng Supernatural University's first principal. After Jiang Huaiwang became ill and his descendants proved unexceptional, Jiang Xuanran's awakening of an S-rank lightning ability made her the focus of her father's expectations. His strict training deprived her of much of the peace she once found in rainy days and shaped her early fixation on cultivation and strength 177.

She won first place in her freshman competition and eventually became captain of the Silver Wolf Team. Before Lu Yuan's rise, she was recognized as Shencheng Supernatural University's strongest student 85 107.

Beneath this reserve, she is conscientious and protective. She tracks down her cousin Jiang Xingyu when he fails to contact his mother, urges him to notify his family before entering the underground world, and later risks herself to defend Shencheng City's second city 107 138. After becoming close to Lu Yuan and Xia Qingyin, she becomes more openly affectionate, caring, and playful 250 282 319.

Jiang Xuanran first appears while submitting a mission as the Silver Wolf Team leader, drawing attention throughout the Mission Center while remaining entirely unfazed by it 16. By Lu Yuan's first year, she is established as the university's strongest student and the team's captain 107.

Defense of Shencheng City's Second City

When three fifth-tier ferocious beasts threaten Shencheng City's second city, Jiang Xuanran leads the defense while waiting for military reinforcements. After using a berserk potion, she stalls the Titan Bear with Thunderstorm Technique and confronts the Extreme Flame Eagle with Lightning Pierce, her spear, and her wolf companion 138.

No. 7 Lost Ruin

During the expedition to No. 7 Lost Ruin, Jiang Xuanran is poisoned by a Bewitching Heart Orchid's hallucinogenic gas. Lu Yuan uses an ice vine to pull her from the cave without exposing himself, then suppresses the poison with his ice-element energy while keeping his eyes closed at her request 177 178.

After surviving the volcanic eruption, she waits for Lu Yuan and accompanies him to a relic auction. There, she recognizes that his talent has surpassed her own and comes to regard him as the strongest student 182 183.

Transfer of the Silver Wolf Team Captaincy

Jiang Xuanran steps down as captain and personally recommends Lu Yuan as her successor. Principal Song Liyuan accepts the recommendation despite initial surprise, and the appointment causes major debate across the campus forum 186.

Relationship with Lu Yuan

Jiang Xuanran's admiration for Lu Yuan gradually becomes romantic. She gives him water during team training, an action Liu Hong notes she had never previously done for anyone 193. With Xia Qingyin's support, Jiang Xuanran directly confesses to Lu Yuan and becomes his girlfriend 260.

She follows Lu Yuan to Tiangong Supernatural Ability Academy, where she supports his training, regularly cooks for him, and eventually moves into his Lake Island residence 282 319.
