Chapter Nineteen: The Easiest Weapon for a Transmigrator to Obtain-Black Powder Explosive Packs
It was an ordinary afternoon in Aningsbe. Although the emancipation movement had been completed, the planting season had already passed, so Lynn organized people to dig trenches into the city walls and quarry stone, preparing supplies for the city's defense.
At the same time, he implemented a policy of universal training.
The main goal was to train them to obey. He also had them practice with wooden sticks as spears.
Spearmen were practically gods in the cold weapons era.
They were effective and quick to train.
Among the supplies Lynn had bought were materials for forging, such as pig iron. He had the Dwarves forge spearheads.
Then he went off to work on his precious project.
"Lynn! So you finished your work and just left me to do everything while you slacked off, huh?!"
"Do you know how exhausting it is to work while you leave me behind?!"
Outskirts of Aninsbei City, Lilim secretly followed Lynn all the way to his testing ground.
With winter gradually approaching, Lilim had changed into a winter Maid Outfit. Its long skirt fell all the way to her shoes. Walking over the muddy ground, Lilim had to lift her skirt, and even so, she ended up covered in mud.
Lynn naturally heard Lilim yelling at him, but he had already lit the fuse. He could only run back at once and dive for cover. As a matter of course, Lynn pulled Lilim into the trench with him. There was no time to change position, so he could only shield Lilim's head with his hand.
"Y-you... you... you..." Lilim repeated herself several times, but before she could finish, the explosion came.
Boom!
"Ah!"
The blast went off, and Lilim jumped in fright. Everything had happened too suddenly. She had only come to find Lynn, but the guy had said nothing and knocked her down, and then there was an explosion.
After the sound of the blast died away, Lynn pushed himself up with his hands, looking rather excited. "It exploded in five seconds this time. I finally worked out how long the fuse needs to be."
"Lilim, what's wrong?"
Lynn was a little confused. Why was Lilim's face so red? Judging by her expression, she seemed frightened. Even her ears were standing up.
"Hakimi seem to get frightened pretty easily. D-did the sound of the explosion leave her stunned?"
"Lilim, wake up. What are you doing?"
Lynn didn't notice anything out of the ordinary.
Lilim was completely flustered now. Was it because the explosion had scared her, or because Lynn had suddenly knocked her down?
Before Lilim could figure it out, Lynn pressed his forehead against hers.
"The weather's getting colder. Could you have caught a chill?"
"You're not hot, either."
"Lilim, could you have been poisoned?!"
"Your face is as red as a steam engine."
Lilim opened and closed her hands, utterly at a loss.
"Y-you... you..."
"Bastard!"
Lilim raised her fist to hit him, but he caught her tiny fist.
Ever since the fall of his empire, Lynn had trained like crazy, maxing out his career stat.
Battle Qi at Third Order?
That was long behind him. He was practically halfway to the Fourth Order.
And that wasn't even mentioning his SSS-rank talent.
Though Lilim also had an SSS-rank talent, she only studied magic, and she was a slacker. It was only after Lynn's downfall that she started thinking about her future. She did train, but her progress wasn't especially fast.
Just like that, Lilim's raised fist was forced down. The little girl couldn't move at all; he had her pinned down tight. "All right, don't be mad. Think rationally, Lilim. Explain why you're acting so strangely."
A few tears welled in the corners of Lilim's eyes. "You tell me, you bastard Lynn! Did you do that on purpose? You triggered the lucky pervert incident that never happened back then on me, you bastard!"
"At least be gentle! You're hurting my hand!"
Lynn's blue brain went into overdrive. Lucky pervert?
Pervert?
Wolf?
Lynn froze in place and thought for three seconds.
In the little trench he had dug, Lilim had been knocked down by him. It was so cramped there was no room to move, and in that position, he was sitting on top of Lilim.
I'm holding her hands down.
Her clothes are a little disheveled.
Red face?
Red face.
Red face!
Only then did Lynn come to his senses and look at Lilim beneath him.
Lilim was so petite, and her hands were raised above her head. Tears glimmered in her sapphire-blue eyes, and her cherry lips were tightly pressed together.
Oh no. What should I do?
Back when I was winning over the heroines, Lilim was the one who taught me. Now I wasn't trying to win Lilim over; I just wanted to keep things between us from falling apart.
Lilim was only especially useless in front of me. If you put her in charge of teaching, management, or administration, she was incredibly capable—so long as she wasn't dealing with something she didn't understand. Otherwise, she'd come out with absurd takes like, "So people without land can't afford to buy any even if they work hard? I thought it was because they didn't work hard enough."
Fortunately, once she learned what she needed to know, she handled things very quickly.
Lynn's mind raced.
If I say it was an accident, nobody will believe me.
Those two-dimensional lucky incidents—where a lucky pervert blunders into something, nervously says it wasn't on purpose, gets beaten up, and then the other person's affection for him goes up—couldn't possibly exist.
Before you continue
