"Master, I'll heal you." Lilim had previously been a pseudo-system, which still counted as a system. Most of the things bestowed by the God of Love could not be used, but she could still use magic.
[Magic: Healing]
"My injuries aren't serious. Go heal the others first. Stop the bleeding where needed, and use magic to disinfect the wounds." Lynn took Lilim's hand and placed it on a severely wounded militiaman. This militiaman was one of the lucky ones. He had dodged in time and only lost an arm. It had happened near the end of the battle, which was why he had not died immediately.
Unlike ordinary Healing Techniques, the healing taught by the books bestowed by the God of Love was extremely effective—but only on the surface.
To put it plainly, the healing effect could make people euphoric, like ancient painkillers. The pain was gone, but there were hallucinations too. To put it plainly, it felt good.
As for its actual healing effects, it merely disinfected, relieved pain, and accelerated the body's recovery. Something that originally required a hundred days of recuperation would only need fifty after using it. It could be considered very useful magic.
It had originally been magic meant to let a blond delinquent deal with multiple targets.
It was remarkably effective on injuries.
The soldier whose face had been twisted in agony gradually revealed an expression of enjoyment. He said in disbelief, "This is incredible, Lady Lilim."
Lilim treated everyone with great care and won the people's favor.
Eckley looked at this person of unknown origin, who had only suddenly appeared after Lynn became a baron, and assumed she was the young master's—ah, no, she should be called the lord's now.
He had thought the lord's particular taste was little girls. Now, though, it seemed this little girl was no simple person either. Her Healing Technique was even better than that of ordinary nuns.
It was practically as if the Saintess herself had descended. If not for the Cat demi-human traits, no one would doubt her if she claimed to be the Saintess.
The only questionable thing was that Lilim's healing effects were pink.
It looked a little like the magic used in the red-light district.
While Lilim was healing people, Lynn was not idle either.
How long did it take for a person's way of thinking to change?
The answer was an instant.
Lynn's mindset had already shifted from playing the Male Lead in a gacha game to developing a National Ideology.
Individuals had selfish desires and a sense of morality.
Paradox Interactive players did not. Everything was for efficiency.
Lynn was truly weighing the gains and losses.
The Knights had suffered almost no casualties. Those who were injured would recover after resting for a few days. I used the militiamen as line troops, and it was a bit brutal. Out of forty men, only a dozen or so remained, and half of them were missing arms or legs.
The fighting had also scattered grain all over the ground, and it needed to be gathered up.
The Minotaurs had been carrying stone axes. Useless junk, and they could not even be smelted for iron. Besides, the axes were too large.
Their fur was useful; it could be skinned off. There was also the meat. If they did not mind, it could be made into jerky for long-term storage. More than thirty cattle could last them quite a while.
Lynn was not merely thinking about it. His hands were already moving.
"Lord Lynn, what are you doing?" After Lilim finished treating him, Eckley walked up behind Lynn and saw that he was dissecting a Minotaur.
"Eckley, don't just stand around either. Get the others and dissect these things. Their thick fur can be made into clothes, their hides into leather armor, and their meat can be eaten. Don't waste the bones either. Use them for soup."
Lynn said all this expressionlessly, making Eckley feel a chill run down his spine. "Lord Lynn, isn't eating intelligent life forms a little too cruel?"
Lynn said nothing. Instead, he cut off a piece of meat, used Fire Magic to heat a stone, then placed the meat on it to roast.
The finest ingredients only needed the simplest cooking methods.
Beef fat sizzled as the steak roasted. Lynn found some salt in his luggage and sprinkled on just a little. He cut the meat into three pieces, speared one with his knife, and put it in his mouth.
It really tasted like beef!
Lynn's eyes widened suddenly. A delighted expression appeared on his face, and he nodded in satisfaction.
But it was so gamey!
Lynn spat the meat straight out.
Forget it. He should quickly process this meat into something that could be stored long-term.
"Who knows how to preserve meat?" Lynn shouted at the slaves. "Anyone who knows how to preserve meat will have their slave status revoked. Once I reach my territory, I'll grant you the status of free citizens!"
"A reward of 10 Silver coins!"
It worked very well. Several people immediately raised their hands.
Lynn then thought of something else. "Use everything to the fullest. Make sausages out of the intestines, and turn those organs into beef offal."
The slaves who had stood up nodded. Then one particularly bold slave spoke up. "My lord, when you said preserve the organs, did you mean making beef filth?"
"What beef filth?" Lynn asked in confusion.
"Taking the cow's... unclean parts and making them into food."
"Yes, that's what I mean."
Well then, beef offal was apparently called beef filth here. It did fit the definition.
"Lord Lynn, isn't this a little..." Eckley maintained his objection. "Too extreme?"
Lynn said unhappily, "Then don't eat it if you don't like it. I don't like it either. It's not as tasty as a Noble's steak."
