"So-called science is the study of the spirit. Keep it up!"
"Everyone!"
Lynn said this as he lay sprawled in his chair.
With Lynn's demonstration on the spot, many of them had found a direction.
What a mage needed most was imagination, followed by talent—that was, the body's affinity for magic power, its control, and its storage capacity.
Though Lynn was still lying in his chair, unwilling to move.
The consumption of magic power was enormous.
To achieve arc ironmaking required a great deal of magic power. That was the hardest problem to solve, but it was not really a problem. A bold decision came to Lynn's mind.
As everyone knew, Lynn was a war criminal.
Since he was already a war criminal, why research new technology?
New technology could be researched slowly; existing technology could be used first.
Use living creatures as batteries—for example, Demonic Beasts.
Without looking back, Lynn headed straight for the Military Department, leaving everyone in a complete mess.
"Boss Smith, that steelmaking method just now seems pretty troublesome. How about I try the blast furnace and converter method the Grand Commander mentioned?" Russ looked at the drawing on the blackboard. "The Grand Commander is really good at drawing. Even the little figures look so nice."
Smith punched him. "Idiot. The Grand Commander's methods aren't guaranteed to work either. Our task right now is to help the Grand Commander make things."
"Go get to it."
The Dwarves left as well.
After having people clean everything up, Lilim went to put up posters.
A few more days passed, and the Guard Army brought back a pile of Demonic Beasts.
Under everyone's shocked gazes, Lynn had people restrain them one by one, then extract their magic power and inject it into a massive solution.
"Lynn, what inhumane thing are you doing again?" Lilim's eyes had already gone vacant. Over these past days, she had witnessed too many of Lynn's immoral acts.
The Demonic Beasts were restrained, and Slime liquid was used as a medium to transmit their magic power into a magic pool.
This magic pool was blood-red.
Holding a book in his hand, Lynn said, "Do you remember when Leticia and I went looking for the Blood Race Cult?"
"I remember. That group of people who longed to become the Blood Race of legend."
"Their research into blood was quite good. At first, I wanted to use Slime liquid as the transmission medium, but later I discovered that adding blood to Slime liquid greatly improved its conductivity." Lynn took out a blood-colored piece of jelly. "This blood isn't a consumable. I added the blood of many living creatures to it, and later found that Demonic Beast blood was the most suitable."
Lynn handed the notebook to Lilim. "The best is the blood of magical creatures, such as Goblins and Slimes. Elf blood is actually pretty good too, and Devil Race blood is even better."
"The best of all is dragon blood."
This was a notebook about the Blood Race. The Blood Race was a legendary race, weaker only than the Dragon Race and stronger than every other race.
The Blood Race Cult had been founded by a group of people who wanted to become Blood Race.
Lynn, Feng Aotian, and Leticia had once destroyed their lair, but instead of their relationship improving in the slightest, Leticia's attitude had only gotten worse.
That was because Lilim had given Lynn the terrible idea of crossdressing to get close to the lesbian ringleader.
After he was exposed, not only had he failed to win over the girl, but Lynn's eyes had turned red.
Lynn used to have Blue Eyes.
Because of this, Lynn's reputation had gotten even worse. Everyone said he had been cursed.
Lilim found this cultish behavior deeply troubling. How could Lynn so brazenly dare to use such things?
After all, the so-called fallen Heroines of that Evil God, the God of Love, merely made the Heroines become addicted to love. All the God of Love ever did was create a few lovesick yanderes.
If the God of Love had not said that Lynn's soul was stronger than other people's and immune to spiritual interference, and if gods had not been unable to directly interfere with the Human World, leaving her unable to affect Lynn in any way—
She would have thought Lynn had been possessed by the God of Kill.
"How did you hide this away?" Lilim had once been a pseudo-system. She had used Divine Favor to remain beside Lynn in a parasitic manner, though she could also manifest a body. They had been inseparable, yet she had not known Lynn had secretly kept this.
"I replicated it from memory."
"What?"
"Replicated it from memory, understand, my secretary?" Lynn placed his hand on the switch and activated the formation. The Demonic Beasts immediately let out miserable wails as magic power was drawn from their bodies. The blood-red pool instantly began to churn; though it was still at room temperature, it looked as if it had been brought to a boil.
Then Lynn had people bring out his specially made blast furnace.
"Lilim, let me show you something. An independently developed electric arc blast furnace using Magic Runes technology." Lynn pointed at the blast furnace in the distance.
"This blast furnace uses an almost fully enclosed furnace body, made from heat-resistant materials. It has heat-resistant magic wands mounted on it, engraved with Magic Runes. Once connected to magic power, they can continuously release electric arcs."
"It's equivalent to using endless lightning strikes to melt ore."
"Electricity can reach extremely high temperatures. The greater the amount of magic power, the higher the temperature of the electricity released. Iron can melt at 1,500 degrees, but if I remember correctly, electric arcs can reach 15,000 degrees."
