The Blood Ghosts and vampires had absurdly overpowered regenerative abilities.
They were almost impossible to kill.
And because the Olesian Army was fighting on a smaller scale, had plenty of time to prepare, and had an unbelievably abundant supply of ammunition,
the machine guns, mortars, hand grenades, and artillery barely ever stopped firing.
With magic added to the mix, even a machine gun that was air-cooled could be made water-cooled.
The same went for the artillery and mortars.
Can you imagine it?
Countless Blood Ghosts, armed with primitive single-shot rifles and wearing plate armor, charged into a sea of gunfire and artillery.
They charged into the shells and the bullets.
On the other side, they were facing a horde of creatures with ridiculously powerful regenerative abilities.
Aside from mithril weapons, their only allies were the Van Helsing monsters.
No matter how many bullets they fired or how many times they hit the enemy, unless they struck a vital spot and completely destroyed them, the enemy would just get back up.
They weren't mindless zombies, either. They were intelligent.
As they charged, they dug trenches. They had machine guns, hand grenades, and Enchantment Magic, too.
To destroy the vampires, they used cluster grenades.
Bayonets fixed to the cannons, then they fired.
The mortars kept firing.
The machine guns kept firing.
Besides all that, high-level fighters were brawling nearby.
In an instant, they could fight their way from one side to the other.
When the enemy fired at them, their side could never know when the enemy might use magic.
Use Magic shields, like they did in the past?
Impossible.
With bullets so cheap, continuously conjuring Magic shields just wasn't worth it.
The entire front line descended into chaos and close-quarters fighting.
Above them, explosions and other sounds rang out without pause.
