The first bomb struck the Leviathan squarely in the head. Its armor-piercing warhead easily tore through the rotten flesh and bone, boring deep inside before detonating with a thunderous blast. This was no ordinary explosion—the bomb was packed with high-energy explosives.

In other words, a newer generation of explosives.

Greater power!

The second bomb. The third.

Every bomb fell. The Leviathan's spine was blown apart, and it let out a pained howl across the sea.

In just the first wave of attacks, the Devil Race's three most powerful living warships had suffered severe damage.

But they were truly tough.

The explosions had not taken their lives, only wounded them.

Seeing that the Leviathans had not been completely killed—

the Spitfire Medium Bombers stopped diving and approached their targets in level flight.

Not the Leviathans anymore.

The ships.

"Prepare rocket salvo!"

Each Spitfire Medium Bomber carried two twenty-four-tube rocket pods beneath its wings. Once they entered range, the weapons officers pressed the firing buttons.

Whoosh whoosh whoosh whoosh whoosh—!

The sight of hundreds of rockets launching at once was utterly breathtaking. Trailing white smoke, they crashed down upon the Devil Race fleet like a torrential rainstorm. These rockets were fitted with shaped-charge warheads, specially designed to penetrate ship armor.

Though wooden ships appeared to have no armor, the skeletons of deep-sea Magic Beasts, Magic shields, and hulls reinforced with Magic Runes all counted as armor.

It was not as though no one had ever rammed iron plating into ships before.

The penetrating effect had been accounted for from the start.

Explosions rang together across the sea. Wooden warships shattered and caught fire beneath the rocket barrage, while flesh and blood rapidly carbonized in the flames. Some rockets shot directly into the ships' interiors before exploding, ripping entire vessels apart from within.
