Ordinary devils had two horns atop their heads—not like bull horns, not like goat horns, but unique, like the devils from Western fantasy works.
They had tails.
They were the most numerous here.
When the smoke cleared and the ground stopped shaking, nothing remained on the position but trenches.
The soldiers emerged from the air-raid shelters in unison.
According to the records and descriptions, most humans were worthless weaklings, skin and bones.
Among animals, tigers and pigs alike would not degenerate from failing to exercise.
But humans would.
Humans were inferior species.
That was what they had been taught.
And yet—
The medium tanks were the first to crush across the network of Vines and trenches that had already been plowed over by artillery fire.
These were new-model tanks.
Not the old First Tanks.
They were Second Medium Tanks.
They used internal combustion engines, giving them better range.
The Devil Race army's rifles could do nothing but leave scratches on them.
The 75mm Short Barrel spewed flame, and high-explosive shells easily overturned machine-gun nests.
Even more terrifying was their speed.
The First Tank could only reach four kilometers per hour, broke down constantly, and needed infantry to escort and protect it. Even with Magic Flight Mode activated, it could only keep going for one kilometer.
But these German tanks exceeded thirty kilometers per hour, advancing in groups of three.
"What are those steel monsters?" The honest Half-Orc warrior (Explosive pack cannon fodder) stood there, utterly dumbfounded.
"Anti-tank guns! We need anti-tank guns!" the vampire support officer, Anderson, roared.
What were anti-tank guns?
They were artillery pieces copied from prototypes—small-caliber, rear-loading carbon-steel guns with gun barrels reinforced by Magic Runes.
They had three such guns.
They had all been kept in the air-raid shelters earlier, so they would not be bombed.
