There were many kinds of magic in this world.
The first kind was sorcery. It was the most basic and widespread form of magic. Sorcerers ranged from apprentices who could cast only a single spell to the world's most skilled and dangerous magic users.
These sorcerers had to be very careful when casting spells. If they mispronounced an incantation or got their intent wrong, the spell could backfire horribly.
The second kind was wizardry. Unlike sorcerers, wizards preferred enchanting objects. They were often highly accomplished in the magical arts, and they began enchanting items to avoid backlash.
Doctor Fate's Helmet was one such item.
The third kind was magical bloodlines. From birth, their veins carried blood infused with magic.
People of this kind could wield more powerful magic than ordinary sorcerers, but there was a price to pay.
Li Ang felt that Rachel belonged to this category.
And so did Ciri.
They were born with this gift: a bloodline.
There were a few other kinds, but Li Ang didn't think they had much to do with magic.
Did power obtained directly even count as "magic"?
Like a ghost...
Anyway.
"Who wrote this book?"
Li Ang was sure it wasn't an ordinary person.
This world was full of hidden talents.
He looked for the author's name.
"Lady Magic?"
Li Ang shook his head. There was no contact information.
He was really at a loss about finding a teacher for his goddaughter.
Take Ciri, for example. She seemed ordinary enough, but only because no one had taught her.
In the original timeline, she discovered her Elder Blood and magical talent under the Witchers' tutelage. Then Geralt brought Yennefer to teach her.
Even with only a little guidance, Ciri had used her Elder Blood to "blink" and "kill in an instant."
