Rock Lee used Gluttony’s stored energy to open the Gate of Death and struck Orochimaru with Dawn Sparrow after Sasuke delayed his escape, sending him crashing toward the Land of Hot Water. As the Allied Shinobi Forces moved to assess the damage and pursue Orochimaru, Naruto and Sasuke discussed how the Sage of Six Paths had chosen Hashirama Senju and Uchiha Madara instead of them.

• Might Guy fell after his final attack and gave Rock Lee a thumbs-up as Lee emerged in a crimson blaze, powered by Gluttony and the Gate of Death.

Ōtsutsuki Isshiki returned, killed the Allied Shinobi Forces' leaders with Black Thorns, and seized Hyuga Neji with a strange thread.

• Jiraiya explained that Hyuga Yunchuan had anticipated an attempt to seize the Underground Palace and arranged the defensive line with Tsunade.
• Nagato demanded that the shinobi move aside, while Tsunade confronted Hyuga Neji over his betrayal; before they could fight, a streak of light crashed into the battlefield.

• Hyuga Neji was pulled from the battlefield into a dark realm where the dead members of the Ōtsutsuki Main House gathered before him.
• Ōtsutsuki Hamura revealed that he was the Sage of Six Paths' younger brother and the Hyuga Clan's ancestor, then offered to complete Neji's Tenseigan.

Nagato, Konan, and Hanzo used their shared perception and abilities to survive Ōtsutsuki Isshiki’s attacks, then Nagato rejected Isshiki’s offer of peace and declared that he could not become their god. Isshiki activated Kusabi Release, Stage One, and prepared to kill them.

Nagato, Konan, and Hanzo trapped Ōtsutsuki Isshiki with a vast Exploding Tag barrage and poison hidden in his Daikokuten refuge. Isshiki emerged gravely poisoned, and Nagato prepared to finish him.
