Chapter Summaries

Hyuga Aoi’s despair after Yunchuan stabbed her awakened the final blade, Lust, of the Seven Deadly Sins. As Lust merged with Aoi and lifted her in a pillar of light, Jiraiya and Gamabunta launched a fiery attack at Yunchuan.

• Hyuga Aoi, dying in Hinata Hyuga’s arms, was overwhelmed by despair over Yunchuan’s betrayal.
• Shadow opened the Sword Case and released Lust, its last remaining blade, toward Hyuga Aoi.
• Tsunade tried to intercept Lust with a punch, but the blade passed through her and struck Aoi.
• Lust resonated with Aoi’s feelings for Yunchuan, raising her into a pink pillar of light as Hinata Hyuga was thrown backward.
• Jiraiya and Gamabunta attacked Yunchuan with Toad Oil Bullet and Fire Style: Dragon Fire Jutsu.

Hyuga Yunchuan revealed to Jiraiya that the Child of Prophecy and other identities were merely titles for the same being, who called himself death. As darkness engulfed the Underground Palace, the Allied Shinobi Forces faced his overwhelming presence.

• Gamabunta struck at Hyuga Yunchuan and Shadow, but the Troll Legion stopped his blade.
• Jiraiya pleaded with Hyuga Yunchuan about Hyuga Aoi, and Yunchuan said he had chosen and controlled her and the others.
• Jiraiya rejected the man before him as the Hyuga Yunchuan he knew and demanded to know who he was.
• Shadow revealed that the Hyuga Yunchuan Jiraiya knew had never existed, and Yunchuan explained that Hyuga Yunchuan, Shadow, and Ōtsutsuki Yunshi were all titles for him.
• Hyuga Yunchuan and Shadow declared that he was death, and their shadows spread across the Underground Palace, swallowing light and sound.

Hyuga Yunchuan left the Allied Shinobi Forces to enter the Fifth Layer while Shadow held back Ōtsutsuki Isshiki and the God Tree’s roots with Severing Void. Jiraiya realized Yunchuan’s apparent kindness came from Pride, as Hyuga Aoi began recovering within the crimsoning pillar of light and Shadow waited for the Lust sword.

• The God Tree’s roots spread through the Underground Palace, trapping weaker shinobi and draining their chakra as the others fought to retreat.
• Hyuga Yunchuan told Shadow not to keep him waiting and headed toward the Fifth Layer, while Ōtsutsuki Isshiki sent roots after him.
• Shadow used Bakudo #81, Severing Void, to block the roots and Isshiki’s giant cubes as Yunchuan entered the darkness.
• Jiraiya concluded that Yunchuan’s true nature was Pride and wondered why he had left Shadow behind.
• Ōtsutsuki Isshiki, Kakashi, and the others saw Hyuga Aoi reviving inside the shrinking crimson pillar and realized Shadow was waiting for the Lust sword.

Shadow blocked the Allied Shinobi Forces from reaching Hyuga Aoi as Lust’s power spread through Tsunade and Ōtsutsuki Isshiki’s attack failed against Uzumaki’s chains. Isshiki heard the God Tree call him to return, and turned toward it.

• Jiraiya, Kakashi, and the Allied Shinobi Forces rushed toward Hyuga Aoi, but Shadow’s shadows seized them and his legions appeared to block their way.
• Tsunade collapsed in agony as Lust’s filaments spread from her body, and she warned Jiraiya not to touch them.
• Ōtsutsuki Isshiki fired Black Rods at Hyuga Aoi, but Uzumaki’s nine chains formed a Barrier that stopped them.
• Ōtsutsuki Isshiki raged and continued attacking the chains until a voice called him to return to the God Tree so he could regain what he had lost.

As refugees besieged the locked gates of the Capital City of the Land of Fire, Yuan Liton stopped a samurai from striking one of them and reminded the crowd that they were all ordinary people afraid of what lay ahead. The crowd saw that the samurai were frightened too, as the threat outside the city continued to approach.

• Thousands of refugees gathered in the rain outside the Capital City of the Land of Fire, where samurai kept the gates shut.
• Members of the Evil God Sect calmed the crowd by helping refugees and telling them the Lord had said there was no place for them in this hell.
• A tremor reignited the crowd's panic, and refugees surged toward the gates as the samurai struggled to hold them back.
• A refugee attacked a young samurai, but Yuan Liton blocked the samurai's blade before he could strike.
• Yuan Liton told the crowd there were no longer any Daimyo and said he and the samurai were ordinary people who were afraid too.
• Lightning revealed the frightened faces of the samurai, and the civilians recognized their fear as their own.

Yuan Liton calmed the panicked refugees and organized their entry into the city as a devastating wave of monstrous roots approached. He held his ground until the last civilians reached safety, leaving the Samurai facing the oncoming destruction.

• Yuan Liton persuaded the rain-soaked crowd to form orderly lines and wait for the city gates to open.
• The Samurai captain ordered ginger soup for Yuan Liton and watched as the gates opened narrowly to admit refugees one by one.
• When thunder and a distant dust curtain signaled the monsters’ arrival, the crowd panicked and surged toward the gate.
• Yuan Liton cut the gate bolts and carved passages through the city wall with Wind Blades, splitting the crowd into safer streams.
• Yuan Liton refused the Samurai’s pleas to retreat as monstrous roots tore through the landscape, waiting until the last civilians stumbled inside.

Yuan Liton activated the Capital City’s Barrier as the God Tree’s roots devastated the Land of Fire, while Uchiha Madara and Hashirama Senju fought the roots in the Land of Hot Water. The Barrier held for the moment, but Madara’s group could not reach the Underground Palace, which the roots had buried completely.

• Yuan Liton told the samurai to enter the Capital City without him so they could activate the Barrier.
• The samurai activated the Barrier, and it diverted the God Tree’s roots around the city while Yuan Liton emerged unharmed.
• Yuan Liton realized the Barrier would only buy time and feared that the Ninja World was doomed.
• In the Land of Hot Water, Uchiha Madara used the Wisdom King Colossus to cut and smash the God Tree’s endless roots.
• Uchiha Madara found the Underground Palace entirely buried beneath the roots, while Hashirama Senju looked toward Nagato.

Nagato and the Nine-Tails fought back against the God Tree’s overwhelming roots with devastating new attacks. The Nine-Tails had become a living creature and cut through another wave of roots, while Nagato feared the price of the Karma Object’s power was near.

• Nagato used four spinning Truth-Seeking Orbs to burn through the roots trapping him, then sensed that the Karma Object’s payment was almost due.
• The Nine-Tails unleashed a Yin-and-Yang-powered Tailed Beast Ball that hollowed out the root tide and detonated in a vast explosion.
• The Nine-Tails revealed that Sasuke and Naruto’s powers had given it a physical body, allowing it to fight independently while Naruto and Sasuke remained inside its Susanoo armor.
• Naruto warned the Nine-Tails as the God Tree’s roots surged toward them again.
• The Nine-Tails formed greatswords from Truth-Seeking Orbs and cut through the incoming roots, which crashed to the ground around it.

The God Tree erupted from the Underground Palace and bloomed, revealing a golden Nine-Tomoe Rinnegan that Ōtsutsuki Isshiki absorbed along with the entire tree. As Isshiki hovered in the darkness with a new slit across his forehead, Nagato was struck through the heart by a black arm.

• Hashirama Senju and the others saw the God Tree tear through the Underground Palace's Fourth Layer and rise beneath the Fifth Layer.
• The God Tree's dark-red flower opened and revealed an eye bearing a golden Nine-Tomoe Rinnegan.
• Ōtsutsuki Isshiki laughed, declared that the God Tree and its power were his, and absorbed the entire tree into himself.
• The golden Rinnegan sank into Isshiki's forehead, leaving a slit that had yet to open as the night returned.
• Nagato screamed as a black arm pierced his heart and held it beating in its palm.

Black Zetsu killed Nagato to resurrect Kaguya Ōtsutsuki, but Nagato’s body transformed into her while the tachi hidden within her began draining her chakra and soul. The blade belonged to Ōtsutsuki Yunshi, whose Rinnegan watched Kaguya struggle.

• Black Zetsu crushed Nagato’s heart and took possession of his body, triggering the Ten-Tails’ chakra and other energies to erupt.
• Nagato realized the Karma Object’s power had come at the cost of his life and soul before his consciousness vanished.
• Black Zetsu bound the rampaging chakra, and Kaguya Ōtsutsuki emerged from Nagato’s body.
• Kaguya sensed a terrifying Ōtsutsuki presence and prepared to reclaim chakra from Naruto, Sasuke, Uchiha Madara, and Hashirama Senju.
• A tachi emerged from Kaguya and drained her chakra and spiritual energy, revealing itself as Ōtsutsuki Yunshi’s sword.
• Black Zetsu recognized the blade as Ōtsutsuki Yunshi’s, while Kaguya struggled helplessly beneath Yunshi’s watching Rinnegan.

Naruto and Sasuke let their Yin and Yang powers be drawn out as Kawashiki stopped Hashirama Senju and Uchiha Madara from attacking Kaguya Ōtsutsuki. Four transformed powers rose into the sky and converged toward the Fifth Layer of the Underground Palace.

• Naruto calmly allowed the Sacred Annihilation Arrow to draw out his Yang Power, and Sasuke followed by letting it draw out his Yin Power.
• Hashirama Senju and Uchiha Madara attacked Kaguya Ōtsutsuki with the Wisdom King Colossus, but Kawashiki blocked their strikes with Golden Wheel Reincarnation Explosion and Divine Air Strike.
• Uchiha Madara and Hashirama Senju recognized Kawashiki and questioned why he had helped them before but now opposed their attack on Kaguya Ōtsutsuki.
• Kawashiki said all beginnings and endings returned to Him as four beams of transformed power rose from the Zanpakuto, Naruto Uzumaki, Uchiha Sasuke, and Kawashiki.
• The four beams began to merge and flowed toward the Fifth Layer of the Underground Palace.
