Kyoraku flickered into view and stopped amid an open stretch of rubble.
The place had once been a training hall belonging to Shino Academy, but Kenma's invading army had laid waste to it.
The teachers who resisted had been killed, and soldiers had taken the students away. Only broken walls and ruins remained.
Kyoraku looked at the scraps of flesh and bloodstains on the ground. His eyes lowered, and his lips pressed into a thin line.
"Then it'll do nicely as my battlefield."
Just then, a streak of light descended from the sky. Its brilliance flared, illuminating the surroundings.
Kyoraku narrowed his eyes but kept his gaze fixed ahead.
A tall figure took shape within the light. He wore a yellow suit and a Justice coat, with sunglasses on his face and his hands in his pockets. He looked utterly relaxed.

After landing, he looked around before finally turning his attention to Kyoraku.
"Oh? Not running anymore, Captain?"
"You came all the way to an empty place like this. Your moves must cover a wide area, and you don't want to catch your comrades in them."
Kyoraku shrugged. Worry flashed across his face, then gave way to a helpless smile.
"You really are sharp. You even figured that out."
"But this place isn't empty. Some of your soldiers are still nearby. I don't mind if they get caught in it."
"What a shame." Borsalino took a hand from his pocket and pointed back the way he had come. "I told them to evacuate on my way here. My moves can get pretty—"
