Uchiha Yuan glanced discreetly up and down at Uchiha Itachi, then chuckled heartily and said, "Don't mind me. It's my fault for disturbing your training by coming here."
The Uchiha Itachi before him was a tender, cute little boy with clear, innocent eyes. His childish face was full of humble and polite expressions.
At this moment, he hadn't yet been caught between the village and his clan, struggling in pain.
Uchiha Yuan found it hard to connect the well-behaved, polite little boy before him with the lonely figure filled with suppressed sorrow and desolation from his memories.
Whose fault was it?
"Hello, I'm Uchiha Yuan."
"My name is Uchiha Itachi. I know you. You're Izumi's older brother."
"Itachi, I know you too. Izumi always talks about you; you're the eldest son of the clan head's family. Why are you practicing shuriken (s) alone here?"
Itachi pulled the shuriken (s) stuck in the tree and said softly, "It's quiet here. I like to be alone and quiet."
Uchiha Yuan took a few steps forward and glanced at the targets hanging on the surrounding trees. He said, "Itachi, I saw your practice just now.
I never expected your shuriken (s) throwing technique to be so amazing. It's the first time I've seen anyone throw shuriken (s) so accurately and with such imagination.
You're only 6 years old now. You will definitely be another genius of our Uchiha Clan (s) in the future."
Upon hearing this, a hint of shyness appeared on Uchiha Itachi's small face.
He said, "You flatter me. I'm not strong enough yet. My shuriken (s) technique still has a long way to go."
Then, Uchiha Itachi observed the surrounding targets with his eyes and began to continue practicing throwing shuriken (s).
Uchiha Yuan stood at the edge of the clearing and watched, quietly observing him as he repeatedly tried to throw five shuriken (s) simultaneously.
In the first two throws, Uchiha Itachi still missed with two shuriken (s).
Next, three more shuriken (s) went astray, and after several more attempts, all five shuriken (s) missed their targets.
However, Uchiha Yuan's eyes shone brightly, and he nodded slightly with an appreciative expression. He sighed inwardly, "As expected of Uchiha Itachi, truly a monstrous genius."
Even though Uchiha Itachi's shuriken (s) kept missing their targets, Uchiha Yuan could see that he was constantly adjusting the angle and force of his throws.
As expected, when Uchiha Itachi began to throw shuriken (s) again, he merely gave his wrist a slight flick as he raised his hand.
The next second, five crisp sounds rang out.
Five shuriken (s) accurately hit the bullseye of the five targets.
Looking at the five shuriken (s) precisely in the bullseye, a joyful and innocent smile appeared on Uchiha Itachi's small face.
Then, his gaze shifted, and he noticed Uchiha Yuan's retreating figure.
Looking in the direction Uchiha Yuan had left, Uchiha Itachi's brow furrowed slightly, a hint of confusion in his eyes.
He keenly sensed that Uchiha Yuan seemed to be subtly distancing himself from him.
Walking slowly along the forest path, Uchiha Yuan's gaze was distant and thoughtful.
His mood was somewhat complex. He had unexpectedly run into Uchiha Itachi and personally witnessed his astonishing talent gradually begin to emerge.
What terrifying talent. To master this kind of skillful, fancy shuriken throw would require at least hundreds of practice sessions. But Itachi only mastered the throwing technique after a dozen or so attempts. And that fluctuation of chakra that appeared during his final throw, Itachi's control over chakra has already reached a level of meticulous detail.
Uchiha Yuan mused. The moment Uchiha Itachi threw the shuriken, he had sensed that the chakra Itachi had imbued into each shuriken was completely consistent. This demonstrated his precise control over his own chakra.
At that very moment, Uchiha Yuan's mind conjured the thought of recruiting Uchiha Itachi more than once. However, reason quickly made him suppress these thoughts. Uchiha Itachi's identity and the talent he was beginning to display would inevitably draw the attention of both the clan and the village. If he were to associate with Itachi, it would inevitably expose himself to the gaze of the clan and the village, something Uchiha Yuan had been trying to avoid.
Secondly, Uchiha Yuan harbored doubts about Itachi. Uchiha Itachi was a genius, precocious, and possessed his own independent thoughts. Yet, observing his final choice, he chose to sacrifice the clan for the sake of a so-called 'greater good'. Uchiha Yuan worried that if he tried to recruit him, he might ultimately be betrayed by him.
Returning home, his mother, Uchiha Rei, was preparing dinner, while his younger sister, Izumi, was slumped over the table, drawing on a piece of white paper with oil paint brushes.
"Izumi, what are you drawing?"
Uchiha Yuan approached Izumi, reaching out to ruffle his cute sister's head, a doting smile on his face.
"Brother, I'm drawing our family. This is Mom, this is you, and this is me," Izumi said, looking up at Uchiha Yuan with a sweet smile.
"Our Izumi is truly amazing. You draw so well," Uchiha Yuan exclaimed, looking at Izumi's drawing.
He then looked at Izumi's other drawings, his gaze suddenly shifting slightly. He reached out and pulled out one of the drawings. Seeing the drawing Uchiha Yuan had taken, Izumi's face showed a hint of panic. However, Uchiha Yuan calmly looked at the drawing. The picture depicted Uchiha Itachi with an incredibly gentle smile, comforting Sasuke, who was crying in his arms.
"This painting is very well done."
Upon hearing Uchiha Yuan's painting, Izumi exclaimed, "Brother, aren't you angry?"
"Why should I be angry?"
Izumi gently bit her lip and said, "Because you don't like Itachi."
Although the siblings had long since made up, Izumi had always kept in mind that her brother, Uchiha Yuan, disliked Uchiha Itachi.
She didn't understand why her brother would dislike the gentle Itachi.
Uchiha Yuan smiled slightly, reached out, and ruffled Izumi's hair. "As long as you're happy, Izumi. Actually, I don't hate Itachi."
I just can't agree with him.
Uchiha Yuan added this last sentence silently in his heart.
After that, Uchiha Yuan never encountered Uchiha Itachi again. Instead, he would visit the Hatake Clan Land every few days after school to guide Hatake Harukaze's training.
In the blink of an eye, two months quietly passed.
On the open ground of the Hatake Clan Land, the sounds of "bang, bang, bang" echoed incessantly.
Two figures flickered and intertwined, moving and turning rapidly.
Uchiha Yuan was sparring with Hatake Harukaze.
It was evident that Uchiha Yuan was maintaining a defensive stance. His palms moved in a dense, net-like pattern, easily deflecting all of Hatake Harukaze's attacks.
After a moment, Uchiha Yuan suddenly spoke, "Harukaze, be careful. I'm going to attack."
Hatake Harukaze's expression immediately changed, and he quickly brought his hands back to defend.
At the same time, Uchiha Yuan swung his palm like a blade, slashing towards Hatake Harukaze.
Hatake Harukaze felt as if an afterimage flashed before his eyes. The next moment, he was sent flying by a powerful force.
When he got up from the ground, he discovered a clear mark on his clothes, torn from his left shoulder to his right abdomen by the palm wind.
"Yuan, your attacks are becoming harder to defend against. That last strike was so fast, I couldn't even see it."
Uchiha Yuan replied, "It's thanks to the Hatake Sword Style you taught me. It's given me many insights, helping me remove unnecessary movements from some of my attacks, making them more concise and sharp."
"No wonder the clan holds the Hatake Sword Style in such high regard. It's truly formidable. I can almost imagine how many people in the Ninja World feared and trembled at the name of White Fang when he wielded this sword style."
