The first designated area of the morning continued along the route they hadn't finished yesterday.
But before checking the route ahead, Kamio Tatsuya decided to find a few nearby tasks to complete. Once the route became clear, he would go back to contest the first-place ranking reward.
By the end of the day, however, Kamio Tatsuya had earned only twenty-three points, a meager haul compared with the previous few days.
Still, there was some good news: the school's once-a-day random location had put the exam route back on track.
After ignoring three designated locations, Kamio Tatsuya had reclaimed first place. He scored thirty or forty points today, bringing his total to 375.
He remained firmly in first place.
Nagumo, in second, was still gaining ground at a pace of around forty points a day. His current total was 291.
In the evening, after all the tasks had ended, Kiriyama approached Nagumo with a grave expression.
"What should we do? At this rate, I'm afraid we won't catch up to Kamio. That guy's a monster, taking first place day after day without getting tired.
"Just monopolizing the tasks won't be enough. If we give up the first-place ranking reward, there's no way we can catch him."
To be honest, Nagumo regretted it. If he'd known Kamio Tatsuya would be so absurdly strong, he should have accepted the offer when Kamio approached him about working together.
That way, Nagumo could have taken first place and cashed in the third-years' tailwind card, while all Kamio Tatsuya would have gained was some Private Points.
It would have been a win-win situation.
But there was no going back now...
