I just saw a reader say that if I started a new book, this one might end up unfinished or get dropped. I only saw this after waking up, and it scared the hell out of me. I felt it was necessary to explain, so everyone can take a look. (slowly kneels)
First, I'm a complete newbie. I'm already really satisfied that my first book has reached around a thousand average subscriptions!
Although this book hasn't made even the slightest splash on Qidian, it hasn't completely fallen into the gutter either. Meanwhile, the numbers on Qidian Reader have remained pretty good. Combined with the guaranteed pay, I make seven or eight thousand a month from royalties. I'm not that ambitious—I'm not the kind of person who dreams of earning tens of thousands in royalties every month. This book will definitely be finished. (for sure)
Second, this dog of an author will be flying back to Guangdong in the middle of this month. I'll be very free by then, with practically nothing to do every day. This book will return to updates of 6,000 or 8,000 characters a day, and once the new book is released, it'll update 4,000 characters a day. (hopefully it gets signed in the end)
So, based on a daily standard of 12,000 characters, there'll be some pressure, but not too much...
My specific plan is this: by then, this book will probably be completed around June or July, at roughly a million characters. The new book should also have just gone premium by then, so I can transition seamlessly. (That's always been the plan. At least my royalties won't be interrupted. Otherwise, if I wait until this one ends before starting a new book, it'll take another month or so before it can go premium. That'd
