I've already finalized it with my editor: the book will go on the shelves at noon on March 19.

Why this date? It was actually pretty awkward. The new book was released on February 5, and today marked its twenty-third day. After today's update, the word count would be closing in on 210,000 words. I updated too much. Q_Q

As a result, I wouldn't get to benefit from the promotional effect of the New Book Monthly Ticket Ranking. That hurt a little.

So I made a rather bold decision: to make use of Qidian's new rules—now, once a book is contracted, readers can vote with monthly tickets. Starting from March 1, I would compete for the Monthly Ticket Ranking and use its exposure to nurture the new book.

So, I wanted to fight for a spot in the top five of the Monthly Ticket Ranking. I even wanted to fight for the top three, so the exposure would be much higher.

Because the book hadn't gone on the shelves yet, reading it wouldn't generate monthly tickets. The difficulty was truly enormous.

When I wrote Senior Brother, I rarely asked for votes and was pretty laid-back about it. Then, after enduring Lord of the Mysteries, Myriad Races arrived, and I remained the perennial runner-up for ages. The one time I finally resolved to compete for the rankings, I threw more than a hundred thousand yuan of manuscript fees into it—only to be mercilessly suppressed by a big shot with a billion-alliance pledge.

After starting this new book, I clearly understood why I couldn't control the word count of its chapters. It was really because I worried that you honored readers would feel I wasn't updating sincerely. So every chapter ensured the completeness of that chapter's pacing, rather than prioritizing cutting it off at three thousand words.

During the free period, I update ten thousand words a day. Every one of you here bears responsibility!
