In the dimly lit bar, a singer dressed in jazz attire sat on a high stool, singing loudly into the microphone before him. His voice was soaring yet profound, a rare timbre indeed. He sang old-school funk and soul, though the music was perhaps a little too highbrow for the crowd.

"You like this kind of music?" Aomei asked Ryan beside her. He had just dragged her straight into this bar.

Ryan took a sip of beer and answered honestly, "Doesn't do anything for me. What about you?"

Aomei shook her head as well. In truth, there was no music she particularly liked, nor did she have any specific hobbies. Her private life could only be described as "boring," which was why she had found herself something to do.

Seeing Alan finish his song and prepare to leave the stage, Ryan left Aomei behind and got to his feet, heading over to him.

Ryan stopped him in the hallway.

"Did you bring a pen?" Alan asked after stopping and turning around.

"I'm not here for an autograph. I'm here to talk collaboration. Wake Me Up, electronic music—has someone named Scooter contacted you? Or School Boy Records?" Ryan immediately asked.

"Collaboration? No one's approached me about collaborating lately. And who are you?" Alan looked rather surprised.

Ryan nodded without answering his question. He was certain now—Scooter had never contacted Alan in the first place.

When Ryan turned and left again, Alan was surprised, but ultimately assumed he had run into some lunatic.

"Let's go. We're heading back to your dorm," Ryan said when he returned to the table, motioning for Aomei to follow him out of the bar.

"Back to my dorm? Wait." Aomei was instantly bewildered.

He wanted to go back to her dorm with her right after meeting? Panic
