Most of the editors had disappeared, too. After Tang Yao confirmed the meeting time with Li Xue and came back, there were hardly any people around.
Kang Ming was still there, though.

Tang Yao returned to her workstation and saw Kang Ming sitting there in a daze. She asked him.
Kang Ming snapped out of it. When he turned and saw Tang Yao, he looked a little embarrassed. "Maybe they thought the atmosphere was kind of weird, so they all went out... By the way, Editor Tang, I think I got a little carried away earlier. Sorry."
"Hm? What are you apologizing for?"
Tang Yao pulled out her chair and sat down, then asked curiously.
Kang Ming told her what had happened after she left.
In short... he'd gotten worked up and resigned too, and had nearly punched Ding Yilong.
"So it was you... I was wondering how the story had turned into a fight by the time it got around."
Tang Yao looked enlightened, then gave Kang Ming a careful once-over. "You didn't actually hit him, did you?"
"No."
Kang Ming rubbed his high hairline. "I saw him trying to catch up to you, so I bumped into him to stop him. But that guy is really infuriating, and I got carried away and threatened him again. I didn't actually hit him, though."
"That's good."
Tang Yao nodded. "It wouldn't be worth putting yourself in the wrong just because of someone like him... Though, all that said, if you and I had switched places, I might really have punched him."
As she spoke, she clenched a small fist and gave it a light swing, looking eager to try.
