Move into Zaun

In Silco's eyes, Finn was a clown. A bona fide clown.

The clown thought he was clever. He thought that by cozying up to the topsiders, he could become someone important—even join Piltover. But he clearly didn't understand that Piltover needed obedient dogs, not ambitious men.

Finn seized every opportunity to climb toward Piltover. In Silco's eyes, he was like a maggot writhing endlessly.

The topsiders?

They were neither reliable nor trustworthy. Getting them to bow their heads didn't mean cutting flesh from their fellow Zaunites. It meant giving Zaun equal strength!

In Silco's view, the previous assault on the Sun Gate hadn't been a mistake. The mistake was that they hadn't taken it!

There were plenty of Zaunites.

But the people of Zaun had no weapons or equipment. Relying on nothing but their flesh and blood, they couldn't withstand the topsiders' bullets.

The failure at the Sun Gate had made Silco realize the crux of the problem. The peace between the Twin Cities that followed, and the enforcers' wariness toward Zaun, had given him an even deeper understanding of the relationship between the two cities.

Perhaps Zaun didn't need a complete victory.

As long as the topsiders couldn't win easily, they would sit down and negotiate like good little boys.

With that in mind, Silco abandoned the empty title of Chem Baron leader and spent most of his wealth sponsoring Alchemical Technology.

Though most of Zaun's brightest minds had chosen to go to Piltover, Silco still relied on those who remained to develop Zaun's own unique Alchemical Technology.

However, the instability of Alchemical Technology remained a huge problem—and just then, magic entered Silco's field of vision.

Silco was unlike Finn.

Even at The Last Drop Inn, he had his own sources, so he wasn't completely ignorant of Lux's identity.
