No matter the circumstances, when neither side knew anything about the other, communication was bound to be imperfect.

Taric had no idea what powerful nations lay hidden in this rainforest, much less why these people had captured him. Out of loyalty to the empire and its emperor, he chose to keep his lips sealed.

Qiyana didn't even know who Taric was. She only knew he was an outsider with strange powers and a potential bridge between her and the Radical Faction. But she couldn't find a way to pry open his mouth.

In these circumstances, communication between the two sides was bound to fail. Even with one of them a prisoner and the other an honored guest, they would have little chance of getting the information they wanted from each other.

And so, kind-hearted Karya decided to lend a hand. By breaking through the barrier between them, he would also get himself "drawn into" the affair.

With Taric watching in astonishment, Karya took on the air of an old master and launched into a dazzling performance.

Every performance needed a character.

So, to get close to Qiyana and earn some of her trust without arousing too much suspicion, what more could Karya add to the persona he'd already created?

It was simple.

The longer you lived, the more you experienced and the more you saw.

Karya didn't need to make up a story. He only had to piece together a few things from the history he'd lived through to create a "new character"—someone who was usually quiet but, at heart, a hotheaded rookie.

And Taric was the key to revealing that hotheaded rookie's true nature.
