Seeing this, Shyvana naturally spread her wings as well and began circling in place, riding the updraft.

It seemed the situation had reached a stalemate.

Things were very different inside the restricted zone, where Karya's progress was going extremely smoothly.

So smoothly, in fact, that both Karya and Kiyran were beginning to wonder about it.

"Why do I keep feeling like these Karya's Relics are waiting for you?" Kiyran smacked his lips as Karya completed another round of experiments. "Nezuk never told me you had anything to do with them."

"I'd like to know that myself." Karya shook his head helplessly. His experiments were going smoothly. "Honestly, this is the first time I've ever encountered anything like this. It's as if they're cooperating with me."

"You mean they're alive?"

"Alive?"

Karya froze.

He truly hadn't considered that possibility.

People were creatures of habit. The first time Karya saw them, he'd dubbed them "Rune Towers." His subsequent experiments had focused mostly on their runes and Magic Circuits. He'd never once considered them living things.

In theory, these things seemed to have nothing to do with living creatures.

But Karya had personally examined Galio several times. Hearing Kiyran's offhand remark suddenly made something click for him.

What if Karya's Relics, like Galio, were living beings activated through some special method?
