Even though he had already seen Lissandra, Sylas was still completely dazed.
Even though he had gained "plenty of experience being locked up" in Demacia, when he truly awoke from the Frost Witch's icy prison, his mind was still a blank.
It felt nothing like being unconscious for a while or taking a nap.
A more accurate way to describe it would be that "a part of Sylas's life was missing."
It wasn't a dream that vanished without a trace.
There hadn't even been a dream.
So when Lissandra lowered her head, gazed at Sylas, and laid out her terms, he didn't even react at first.
He simply stared blankly at Lissandra, watching the Frost Witch's lips move as he tried with all his might to recall his past. Once his consciousness returned, his life had flashed before his eyes, like a reel of film, showing him more than forty years of memories.
After skipping over that missing stretch, he finally raised his head and looked at Lissandra.
"So, what did you just say?"
"I can give you a chance at freedom." Lissandra didn't seem to mind that he'd ignored her earlier. Or perhaps she had already anticipated Sylas's state. "Do one thing for me—something you want to do. I'll give you my full support, and then I'll set you free."
"The only thing I want is revenge." Sylas narrowed his eyes. "So, is the Frostguard Tribe declaring war on Demacia?"
"I'd rather you went after the emperor of Demacia." Lissandra gently shook her head, offering an alternative. "You can use other people's power, can't you?"
Sylas nodded instinctively.
"Then I can lend you my power." Lissandra approached Sylas and held out her right hand. "Use my power to carry out your revenge."
