The properties of light meant that even in her semi-elemental state, Lux could seize absolute control of a fight. She could attack when she wanted and flee when she wanted.
That was precisely why Lux had taken the initiative and started the fight despite knowing so little about Lissandra.
As a master of Sealing Spells, Lissandra understood this just as well.
Their exchanges so far had proved beyond doubt that ordinary spells alone couldn't do a thing to Lux. No matter how tightly woven a spell was, it couldn't fully take shape and seal her before she could react and enter her semi-elemental state.
Under these circumstances, the battle's outcome seemed destined to be a stalemate, with neither side able to do anything to the other.

She was even wary of many spells concealed in the shadows and held in reserve, leaving them useless in the end.
In these circumstances, ordinary methods clearly wouldn't work against Lux.
Lissandra had to find a way to conceal her spell completely.
And what could be more suitable for that than the weather?
