The Battle of Jotunheim had officially come to an end.
The Frostguard Priests and Frostguard Warriors who had followed Lissandra from the Frostguard Citadel to Jotunheim suffered a crushing defeat. Nearly a third of them were killed on the spot, while the rest were captured.
The terrain was easy to defend, but that also made escape difficult. On top of that, Lissandra herself had left so quietly that the Frostguard Tribe left behind had made no preparations to flee and had set aside no force to cover their retreat. As a result, they were almost completely surrounded.
Under normal circumstances, given the Frostguard Tribe's fighting strength, they would have broken through the encirclement. The allied forces should have paid a terrible price to keep them there.
But Lissandra's desperate flight changed the outcome. With their spiritual totem collapsed, the Frostguard Tribe made no major moves. They were left demoralized and became prisoners.
It was for this very reason that the allied forces managed to capture more than twenty thousand prisoners.
Prisoners on that scale were a heavy burden for the allied forces, especially with winter coming. Releasing them all would be like letting tigers return to the mountains, but keeping them in Jotunheim meant suddenly having twenty thousand extra mouths to feed. Though they were dispirited, they had healthy appetites.
Unless they executed the prisoners, there was no easy way to deal with them.
