Generally speaking, a talkative friend often had a quiet listener for a companion. Zoe and Aurelion Sol were exactly that kind of pair.
Although they hadn't been close when they first met—in fact, Aurelion Sol had nearly attacked the noisy little twerp because of the lingering power of the Titans within her—once he learned that Twilight had abandoned her and that she now hated the Titans, the two had hit it off almost immediately and swiftly formed an Avengers Alliance.
The Titans' method of creating Aspects to interfere with Runeterra had also given Sol quite a bit of inspiration.
Yes, because he'd fallen for the Titans' trick, he had no way to approach Runeterra.
But that didn't mean he had no way to exert his influence.
Zoe's appearance was clearly a good opportunity for him. As long as she could return to Runeterra and tear out the Titans' roots, those crafty little thieves would be done for!
With this in mind, Zoe and Sol "joined forces," forming an Avengers Alliance.
Then, under Sol's guidance, Zoe happily returned to Runeterra.
Her destination was actually the city of Shurima, but there was a slight mishap during the teleportation, and she ended up in Kashuri, Ionia. After she failed to communicate with the locals, Zoe simply opened another portal and continued searching for Shurima.
At least she wanted to find someone who could understand what she was saying.
Ugh, Runeterra was such a hassle. The Heavenly Realm was much more convenient—with the aether of the Heavenly Realm all around them, Zoe and Sol had been able to communicate just fine even though they'd never met before. But now that she was back in Runeterra, she couldn't even find her way home because of the language barrier!
