As a Noxian who recorded history through song, Nunu had been warmly welcomed by the allied forces when he first arrived at Frostguard Citadel.
However, the battle had just ended, and everyone still had plenty of work to do. When Nunu asked to "interview" them, they all said they couldn't spare the time, leaving him with no choice but to visit Eggnivia, the lonely old egg with an empty nest.
Eggnivia had enjoyed talking with Nunu, but her limited perspective meant her account wasn't enough to satisfy him.
As the Void Rift was gradually sealed, the allied forces—aside from the Hextech units—found themselves with less and less to do. In the meantime, Nunu bid farewell to Eggnivia, who was waiting for her Nirvana to be complete, and began gathering stories from the allied forces once more.
The soldiers were glad to have some free time and eager to boast to Nunu.
But Nunu took his task very seriously and was determined to preserve the most reliable account possible. Those who had hoped to leave behind some "glorious deed" in song soon contradicted themselves when he probed for details.
Once their stories became inconsistent, things got awkward.
The people whose tall tales had fallen apart wouldn't dare lose their tempers at the earnest Nunu, but they could avoid him. Freljordians loved to boast, but getting caught out in a lie was mortifying.
By comparison, the Demacian expeditionary soldiers tended to be more grounded in their accounts. They boasted too, but at least their stories were mostly plausible.
Unfortunately, the language barrier made things difficult. Though many Demacians had learned to speak a little Freljordian during the long expedition, they often struggled to find the right words when telling a complete story, so their conversations with Nunu didn't
