Karya knew the source of the Sun Disc's power, and so did the Aspects.
Ultimately, the Aspects were merely middlemen for Aurelion Sol's power.
Although the Aspects had long since grown familiar with and adapted to all this, accustomed to using the Crown of the Heavens to command Aurelion Sol to deal with threats they couldn't handle themselves, Karya's pointed accusation still left them at a loss.
After successfully tricking Aurelion Sol into donning the Crown of the Heavens, the Aspects had managed to construct a perfect cycle that worked in their favor. Any threat they encountered could be dealt with by Aurelion Sol. Though the dragon was unwilling to be controlled by the Aspects, Runeterra's protection meant they had nothing to fear from his attacks.
Runeterra rejected Aurelion Sol. No matter how furious the Star Forger was, he could do nothing to the Aspects.
But the rise of Karya—or, rather, the mortals of Runeterra—had disrupted this perfect celestial design.
If one day these people grew strong enough to threaten the Aspects, forcing them to flee Runeterra, then the moment Aurelion Sol learned of it, the Aspects would likely face utter destruction.
And now, the situation seemed to have grown even worse. Judging by Karya's actions, he had even made some kind of contact with Aurelion Sol...
Fortunately, Shurima's Sun Disc had long since collapsed. Even if the two sides were in some way connected, Aurelion Sol couldn't offer these mortals any support from the distant Heavenly Realm. As long as they wiped out the rebels before them, who were capable of shaking the Aspects' position, the perfect order that belonged to the Aspects could continue to function.
Then, without warning, the Twilight Spirit passed through the Veil of Twilight and appeared right beside Karya, launching a lethal surprise attack.
