A sudden, brutal attack by a small group of fewer than ten demons had turned this place into a scene resembling hell after the arrival of the Grim Reaper.

Yet this was not the end, because the attack had only just begun!

Although most people had already begun fleeing for their lives eastward, toward the city gates, this was, after all, a street—a whole neighborhood. Some of the residents inside the houses did not even know what had happened and had not had time to escape.

Thus, amid the shrieks, the blazing sun, and flying scorched earth, this suburban area in the western outskirts of Lapona naturally suffered an unprecedented calamity.

"Roar!!"

Several demons suddenly burst through the wall of a roadside house. Roaring, they fought over the living person they had dragged from somewhere, tearing them in half and greedily bathing in their warm blood before savagely hurling the corpse, whose screams had abruptly ceased, to the ground.
