Chapter 4206: Back Again
Several days passed in the blink of an eye.
On this day, the sun shone brightly.
Morning light filtered through the tall, ancient locust tree in the courtyard beside the old-fashioned, three-story wooden building of Guests Always Come. It slipped between the branches and leaves and shone into the third-floor hall, lending the place an especially elegant, tranquil air.
Perhaps it was still early in the morning, or perhaps it was because this was an old lane.
So even though the place was in the bustling Food Ward, the street outside was still relatively quiet. Few passersby or sounds of commotion drifted in.

At that moment, the proprietress of Guests Always Come—a seemingly ordinary old woman dressed in coarse indigo clothes, with gray hair casually twisted into a bun—held a cup of hot tea in her hands. Squinting, she watched Lin Daiyu and Tanchun sitting in the guest chairs across from her.
Both were dressed like ordinary young ladies from respectable families. They had no attendants with them and looked just like two young women out for a stroll.
Lin Daiyu wore a long, moon-white jacket embroidered with pale blue orchids, along with a matching plain skirt. Her hair was simply pinned up with a white magnolia hairpin. Her features looked more and more like a painting, her bearing serene and otherworldly.
Jia Tanchun, meanwhile, wore an autumn-yellow jacket with a subtle pattern, a palace sash around her waist, and a long purple skirt. She moved with an air of brisk confidence.
About fifteen minutes earlier, the waiter had come upstairs to report that Lin Daiyu and Tanchun had arrived together and wished to visit her.
Though somewhat surprised, she had told the waiter to bring them to this reception room on the third floor.
