  • Maria Hill ordered Coulson to evacuate the wounded and secretly send selected fallen soldiers to the Church of the Holy Light for resurrection.
  • Melinda reported that Nick Fury's Battlecruiser had made an emergency landing on Mars, and Hill dispatched transport ships, SCVs, and supplies to rescue it.
  • Rocket warned Thor that Thanos would come after them, and an unidentified cone-shaped assault craft landed near the lunar base.

Ch. 383The Final Battle (II)

Thanos arrived at the lunar base and used the Soul Stone to control its Marines, turning the defenders’ advantage into a crisis. Thor identified the threat, and Hulk, Thor, Valkyrie, and Carol charged out to confront him as Hill and the others followed; Hulk’s first attack was about to land.

  • Maria Hill ordered the base’s defenders to retreat behind the shield and prepare for Thanos’s arrival, while Annie watched him through Uatu’s lunar observation equipment.
  • Thanos approached the base, demanded its three Infinity Stones, and raised his Infinity Gauntlet after Hill refused to surrender.
  • Thanos used the Soul Stone to control more than a thousand Marines, who dropped their weapons and knelt; Thor explained that the Stone had taken control of their souls.
  • Melinda explained that Ghost Suits protected their wearers from mental control, and Hill organized a counterattack while leaving Rocket and Barbara behind.

  • Thanos caught Hulk's punch, threw him down, and knocked him unconscious with three blows before kicking Valkyrie away.
  • Thanos uppercut Thor, sending him into Carol, then caught Logan's Adamantium claws, crushed them, broke his arm, and hurled him into Maria Hill, Melinda, and Black Widow Natasha.
  • Thanos walked through Daisy Louise Johnson's shockwaves and turned them back on her, sending her into a lunar crevasse.
  • Thor and Carol regrouped as the only heroes left standing, and Carol told Thor she needed time to gather Binary's cosmic power.
  • Thor tried to distract Thanos by mentioning Annie Hastur and her Infinity Stones, but Thanos recognized the ploy and insulted Odin.
  • Enraged by the insult, Thor's lightning surged, and he charged Thanos with his Warhammer.

  • Thanos threatened to destroy Earth and contacted Nebula, but Annie remained unconcerned and demanded the orange stone instead.

Ch. 386Right and Wrong Had Nothing to Do with It

Nebula betrayed Thanos by activating a bomb threat against his ship, but Annie tricked him into surrendering the Soul Stone and let him leave believing he had all six Infinity Stones. On Titan, Thanos snapped his fingers, shattered the stones, and settled into a peaceful retirement, unaware that Annie had deceived him.

  • Nebula revealed that she had planted planet-killing bombs aboard the Sanctuary II and pressed the detonator, cutting off Thanos’s attempt to threaten Earth.
  • Thanos charged Annie, but his punch struck an illusion, and Annie offered to trade three stones for a chance to study the Soul Stone and a promise that he would leave Earth alone.
  • Annie tricked Thanos into handing over the Soul Stone, then gave him four stones, including the fake Space, Time, and Mind Stones, before he departed for Titan.
  • Annie showed Carol that she had many more stones and explained that she had followed the contract’s wording, then went to help the unconscious people, including Aunt Melinda.
  • On Titan, Thanos snapped his fingers, mistook the stones’ destruction for the price of fulfilling his goal, and went to sleep believing he had eliminated half the universe’s population.

Ch. 387The Brat Finally Left

Annie left the Marvel Universe after saying goodbye to Earth’s heroes and allies. The chapter ended with Earth’s leaders discussing the aftermath of the battle, while Sally and Renault chose to remain on Earth and build their lives there.

  • John Mizzriel introduced the defending Ogre champions and the Flame Alliance challengers, explaining that Rehgar Earthfury would not fight.
  • Farana apologized to Dawol for their capture, and Dawol reassured her that they were family and prepared to fight alongside Fatty.
  • John Mizzriel urged the spectators to place bets while Farana and Dawol readied their weapons for the seemingly hopeless match.
  • As John Mizzriel began the countdown, a blue Space Gate opened above the arena and Annie floated out, asking who had called her name.

Ch. 390You there, go squat in the corner!

Matthias instead bought information about the weapons shipment, while Brak deliberately withheld a key warning about the danger aboard the pirates’ fleet.

  • Matthias Shaw accused Brak of supplying weapons to Vanessa VanCleef’s Defias Brotherhood and threatened Stormwind’s intervention.
  • Brak demanded forty thousand gold coins to redirect the weapons, and Matthias admitted SI:7 could not afford the deal.
  • Matthias paid Brak fifty gold coins for the ship’s schedule and landing site in Westfall.
  • After Matthias left, Brak explained that he had sold information worth only fifty gold coins and kept quiet about the powerful little girl aboard John’s pirate fleet.
  • Brak repeatedly slapped his cousin after the cousin revealed that their mother had also stolen money from him.

Ch. 393The Battle for the Firelands (I)

Farana’s fleet struggled through the dangerous Reef Sea toward Westfall while goblin captain John Mysriel and Orc shaman Rehgar Earthfury considered escape but could not remove their magical restraints. In the Firelands, Shannox tried to keep Ragnaros from breaking through the spatial barrier, then feared that Lord Rhyolith’s arriving army intended to help Ragnaros return.

  • Farana confronted John Mysriel about the fleet’s slow progress, and he explained that reefs and Murlocs made the Reef Sea dangerous to cross.
  • Rehgar Earthfury urged John Mysriel to fight back, but John offered him a dagger to test whether cutting off his hand would remove the Fire Rune; Rehgar refused.
  • Ragnaros tore at the Firelands’ spatial barrier while Shannox and the Fire Elementals tried to repair it and summoned Lord Rhyolith for help.
  • Shaturu reported that Lord Rhyolith was bringing tens of thousands of Unbound Emberlords and Unbound Smoldering Elementals, prompting Shannox to suspect betrayal.
  • Shannox ordered Shaturu to take troops and stop Lord Rhyolith before his arrival could interrupt the barrier repairs and allow Ragnaros to return.

Ch. 394The Battle for the Firelands (II)

Shannox’s forces failed to stop Ragnaros from returning to the Firelands, and Ragnaros prepared to punish the Flamewakers. Little Annie interrupted him by pelting him with an egg and demanding payment for invading her home.

  • Annie realized Ragnaros was dead and blamed Tibbers for not warning her.

Ch. 397Vanessa VanCleef (I)

Grian Stoutmantle organized a ceremony to establish the People's Militia in Moonbrook, but Vanessa VanCleef and her sister Lana infiltrated it in disguise and assassinated Duke Laskova. The sisters escaped by magic, leaving Grian to lock down the town and report the killing to Stormwind City.

  • Grian Stoutmantle planned to raise a two-thousand-strong People's Militia to defend Westfall against the growing Defias Brotherhood, and Duke Laskova agreed to declare it legitimate.
  • Vanessa and Lana attended the militia ceremony disguised as noblewomen, and Laskova pressured the younger woman to reveal their names as he prepared to give his speech.
  • The disguised Vanessa whispered that her name was Vanessa VanCleef, then beheaded Duke Laskova with a black dagger before the guards could react.

Ch. 399Deadwind Pass

After getting lost on her way from Stranglethorn Vale to Westfall, Annie arrived in Deadwind Pass and met Medivh outside Karazhan. She agreed to explore the abandoned tower with him in exchange for its records of other planes, postponing her plans to visit Vanessa and attack Stormwind.

  • After leaving the Firelands, Annie failed to find the fleet in Stranglethorn Vale and teleported to a bleak, unfamiliar mountain region.
  • Annie realized she had gotten lost and headed toward Karazhan to find someone to question, but a raven transformed into the old mage Medivh before she entered.
  • Medivh identified the area as Deadwind Pass and explained that he had abandoned Karazhan because its magic, creatures, and rift to the Twisting Nether had become uncontrollable.
  • Medivh said he was investigating signs of renewed Burning Legion activity around Karazhan, while Annie dismissed his concerns and declared she planned to visit Vanessa and attack Stormwind.
  • Medivh persuaded Annie to explore Karazhan by offering her spellbooks and records of other planes, and she agreed to follow him inside.
