It was night.

Distant lights flickered.

A gentle night breeze brushed against the young man as he calmly gazed at the moon in the distance.

The hazy moonlight spilled down, casting a faint glow on the street before him.

He somewhat dejectedly took out his phone. He had bought it not long ago, but at this moment, two clear lines of text were displayed on the screen.

[Do you want to understand the meaning of life? Do you want to truly live?]

[Yes/yes]

The young man's name was Jiang Feng. He was eighteen years old, from the Celestial Dynasty, and had just finished his college entrance exams, awaiting his acceptance letter. Although his family wasn't wealthy, they were considered well-off. His parents were alive, and though they often worked away from home, their life was quite good.

All in all, he felt his current life was pretty good. He didn't want to understand the meaning of life, nor did he want to become a pawn of the Main God.

However, these two options presented to him now truly left him speechless.

He himself enjoyed browsing the internet, and these two sentences were already a cliché on many Chinese web novel sites.

He had fantasized about such a scenario before, but when it actually presented itself in reality, he felt hesitant.

Jiang Feng had even suspected it was a virus from some hacker, waiting for a chuunibyou to click it, so they could then steal the chuunibyou's WeChat and bank card details.

After much hesitation, he ultimately did not click.

No matter how he looked at it, not clicking seemed like the better option.

Then, this phone had been lit up since last night. Thanks to it, Jiang Feng hadn't used his phone at all for a whole day.

He tried to use someone else's phone, only to find that the screen, which had been lit, immediately went black and displayed these two lines of text again.

Jiang Feng fell into thought.

He pondered silently.

He had no clue.

Returning to the current question: should he click it?

He felt that clicking it would lead to very bad things.

After all, one of the options was "yes," and the other was "yes," like signing a contract to sell himself.

Lost in thought, he found himself walking along the quiet, moonlit street without even realizing it.

But in the next moment, he no longer had to worry.

A Gate from another world hurtled towards him at breakneck speed. He barely had time to react before the immense inertia and impact shattered the scene. Accompanied by the screech and tear of metal, Jiang Feng was sent flying like a kite with a broken string.

Intense pain surged through him, and in an instant, his consciousness was overwhelmed by the agony.

Then, he lost consciousness.

Jiang Feng had no idea where the car came from. It was as if it had appeared out of thin air. Logically, at such a high speed, it should have been incredibly loud on such a quiet night.

But he hadn't heard the slightest sound. The car seemed to have just materialized beside him.

When Jiang Feng opened his eyes again, he saw a world of white.

He looked around in a daze. The surroundings were a hazy, gray-white mist, indistinct and unclear.

Feeling that his limbs were intact, and not experiencing the tragic aftermath of a car accident, Jiang Feng took a step forward. His foot touched the white expanse, and ripples spread across the white world.

Jiang Feng frowned and pondered. He assumed he was dead.

It was truly strange. First, that passage of text, and now a car coming to pick him up.

Were there so many ways to transmigrate in this world nowadays?

And they were afraid he wouldn't agree, did they have quotas for transmigration now?

But what should he do now?

He tried to speak, only to find that he couldn't make any sound. To be precise, he opened his mouth to speak, but no sound came out.

It was as if this area was a vacuum.

He looked around blankly, waiting for a while. Still, no Main God or wise Goddess calling herself Aqua appeared, and he became somewhat agitated.

Jiang Feng grumbled inwardly: You forcibly dragged me here, and now that I'm here to work, there isn't even a senior to greet me.

With that, he simply began walking aimlessly.

The vast, boundless white world stretched out, with no end in sight.

A white, misty world, with only this one young man walking through it, alone.

No one else, just himself.

He didn't know how far he had walked, how many steps he had taken.

Finally, as a sliver of loneliness began to spread in the young man's heart, loneliness and solitude turned into fear and surged into his heart.

From looking around everywhere at first, to now being silent, he just walked on calmly.

The journey was long and devoid of life, with no sound to be heard or sign of vitality to be seen.

There were no colors, just a vast expanse of white everywhere, with only silence.

What is this?

A wry smile touched Jiang Feng's lips.

He had arrived, but the Main God was gone, leaving him only this world of white.

He felt tired, a little weak.

He wanted to sit down and rest for a bit.

So Jiang Feng sat on the ground, and the world of white rippled once more.

He began to raise his eyes and look at the world around him.

A world of white, without color, without temperature, just a world of white.

This world of white was like a scroll waiting for an artist to splash ink onto it, or like a brand-new book waiting for an author to write it.

A bold idea inexplicably entered Jiang Feng's mind: without the Main God, without a Goddess, perhaps he himself was the writer of this world?

He began to recall, to remember the silent night before he was hit by the car.

Night draped over the entire city, bright neon lights flickering in the darkness. Fewer and fewer pedestrians were on the streets, only a few drunks staggering along. The night breeze rustled the leaves, making a soft sound, as if whispering something.

Distant skyscrapers were brightly lit, like a huge castle standing tall in the darkness. The shops on both sides of the street were closed, with only a few late-night eateries still open. Tempting aromas wafted from the shops, making one's mouth water.

Suddenly, a cat darted out from a street corner, quietly approaching a trash can. It sniffed, then stuck out its tongue to lick, making a lapping sound. A dog not far away began to bark, breaking the quiet night.

He walked like this through the city under the night sky.

The stars in the sky twinkled like countless diamonds adorning the black canvas. The moon also showed half its face, emitting a soft glow. A nightingale began to sing in the distance, its clear voice echoing in the air.

The city under the night sky seemed like a mysterious world, full of the unknown and imagination. It made Jiang Feng feel refreshed and exhilarated, but also lonely and isolated.

The world began to change. The originally white world was turned upside down. Jiang Feng looked up; the sky was no longer a white expanse but a pitch-black night. The bright moonlight cast a silver glow, and the streets began to become lively. A black and white cat appeared before him, and scenes began to rapidly spread outwards from Jiang Feng, with him at the center. Jiang Feng stood there, just standing quietly.

The sense of loneliness disappeared, the fear of the unknown dissipated, replaced by a strong sense of novelty.
