He hurried over, turned her over, and saw that Eris was indeed in terrible shape. Her delicate, doll-like face was flushed crimson, blood still streaked the corner of her mouth, and her eyes were half-closed.
He sighed. This was hardly the time to lecture Eris. He helped her over to the wall and began casting an intermediate healing spell.
"Holy Power is nourishing grain. Grant those who have lost their strength the power to rise once more. Healing!"
Rudeus held his hands above Eris's chest—above, of course, without actually touching her. For once, his usual nature failed to make him take advantage of her. He gathered his mana and quietly recited the spell.
He could have cast it without chanting, but Rudeus wasn't particularly skilled at healing magic, and the incantation helped guide the healing more effectively.
Eris's pale cheeks quickly regained their color. The swelling on her face began to subside, and in just a minute, most of the injuries that had left her unable to move had healed.
Feeling a little pain still lingering in her cheeks and lower abdomen, Eris staggered to her feet.
Rudeus hurried to support her and asked quietly, "Um, how are you?"
"Does it look like I'm doing great?" Eris's voice was still loud and a little hoarse. The moment she spoke, she nearly scared Rudeus to death. He clapped a hand over her mouth. "Can you keep your voice down? Do you even know what's going on?"
Eris slapped his hand away and said furiously, "Those damned scumbags! I'm going to have Ghislaine kill them!"
Rudeus gave a bitter smile. He couldn't keep up with the young lady's thought process at all. Their priority right now was to get out of there, wasn't it?
Far away, Roa stood clad in a
