Li Mo and the Cat Demon stared at Ye Wen. It took them a long while to realize that Ye Wen believed what they had told him.
But after we've said so much, it's obvious you know about the black token. Aren't you going to tell us what it is? We nearly died getting our hands on it, after all.
Ye Wen noticed the two of them were still standing there in a daze and asked in confusion,
"Come on, what are you still standing around for?"
Li Mo couldn't keep his impatience in check. They'd had the token for days, and still hadn't figured out what it did.
You can take it, but you have to satisfy my curiosity too. So he spoke up first.
"Brother Ye, Big Brother Ye. From today on, you're my big brother—my real big brother! I'll follow you from now on!"
Ye Wen nodded with an amused smile. "Spit it out!"
"Brother Ye, what exactly is that token? What does it do? Tell us about it. You can have it; we don't want it anymore. But at least let us know what it's for, right?"
"Come on. Take me to see the zombie first. I'll tell you later!"
There was nothing they could do. Ye Wen wouldn't tell them, and they couldn't beat him. So they could only lead the way, crestfallen. After they'd walked for a while, Ye Wen suddenly spoke.
"Little Black, I have to say, your territory's scenery is really nice. Mountains and water everywhere. No wonder there's a Spirit Eye here."
The Cat Demon, who'd been leading the way, suddenly froze.
"Little Black? He can't be calling me that, can he?" After listening to all of Ye Wen's words, he realized with dismay that he really was calling him that!
The Cat Demon's fur stood on end, and he let out an angry, gritted-teeth yowl.
"Meow! My name isn't Little Black! What kind of lousy name is that?"
Ye Wen burst out laughing. "You are Little Black. Look at your good friend Li Mo—he's Li Hei Quan, Black Dog. You're a Black Cat. Black Cat, Black Dog. That's why you two get along so well!"
The two of them could no longer hold back. Shouting, "You can kill us, but you can't humiliate us!" they charged at Ye Wen.
Ye Wen didn't even care. He slapped them twice, sending both of them sprawling. Looking at the man and cat sprawled miserably on the ground, he roared with laughter.
"That's your punishment for trying to deceive me in the first place. If we get there and I don't see a zombie, and you're still lying to me—heh heh! Next time, you two might not get back up!"
Only then did the man and cat understand. This guy was petty. We only lied to you because we had no choice!
Now they were both deeply worried. Big Brother Zombie, don't move away! If you leave, this guy will think we lied to him. Will he really beat us to death then?
The Black Cat Demon glanced up at Ye Wen. That guy really didn't look like a good person!
"Brother Ye, from now on, call me Black Emperor. I'm determined to become the supreme emperor of the Plum Blossom Seeking Snow Cat Demon Clan!"
Black Emperor? This little black cat had some big ambitions!
At last, after passing through a stretch of dense primeval forest, the three of them reached the mouth of a gorge.
"It's in there. Look—the depths of the gorge are wreathed in immortal mist, like a land of immortals. It used to be a place full of ghostly energy, where even the insects and birds fell silent."
Black Emperor was extremely worried the zombie might not be home today. If Ye Wen didn't see it, he'd have to point out other things to prove he hadn't been lying.
The man and cat moved nervously into the depths of the gorge, with Ye Wen close behind. Ye Wen feared the zombie might have regained some of its strength from when it was alive, without regaining its mind.
Just thinking that the other party had once been at the Ninth Rank Peak made Ye Wen's blood run cold.
But the other two were worried the zombie wouldn't be home...
Just then, they noticed movement up ahead. They crept closer and discovered that it really was the zombie, eating some kind of animal meat.
This zombie was nothing like Old Ghost Wu or Corpse Wife. Its body was barely decayed, but it gave off an intense aura of death from head to toe.
The three watched for a while. The zombie still seemed to be mindless, so they all let out a breath at the same time. The thing they'd feared had not come to pass!
The zombie sensed their sighs and quickly ran toward the place where the three were hiding.
"Damn, this zombie doesn't hop around like Old Ghost Wu's zombie. It runs straight at us. Does that even count as a zombie?"
Ye Wen exclaimed in surprise!
The three were forced to fight. Ye Wen took the lead, while the man and cat hid behind him.
After a few exchanges, Ye Wen realized that the zombie's body really was powerful. He couldn't break through its defenses at all.
Ye Wen shouted,
"Black Dog, Black Cat, get out of here! I'll hold it off first. We can't hurt it—it's too strong!"
The two were deeply moved. They didn't even mind what he called them, and quickly left.
After they'd gone, Ye Wen unleashed his full power and activated his Berserk skill.
Once Ye Wen activated Berserk, he could just barely fight the other party. And so the two sides battled deep in the gorge for a long time...
