Hearing the voice, Ye Wen looked up and saw a young man waving to them from the open gate of a small courtyard not far away.
Ye Wen smiled too and patted Li Mo on the shoulder.
"Come on, let's go take a look. At least we won't have to sleep on the street anymore!"
Ye Wen and Li Mo approached the young man. Seeing how courteous he was, Ye Wen said gratefully, "Thank you, big brother. Otherwise, my friend and I would have had to sleep on the street tonight!"
"Hahaha, when you're away from home, you rely on friends! Looks like you two have come to Immeasurable Mountain to seek the Dao as well. Come in, come in! I, Old Duan, am a hospitable man who loves making friends!"
Ye Wen and Li Mo followed Old Duan into the little farmhouse courtyard. Ye Wen looked around.
Old Duan smiled and said, "When I heard that the Longevity Dao Sect was opening its gates to accept disciples, I rushed here as soon as I got the news. Only after arriving did I learn there was still quite some time before the official recruitment. So, after signing up, I rented this little courtyard from a farmer at the foot of the mountain and settled in to wait for the day the gates opened!"
"Pleased to meet you, Brother Duan. I'm Ye Wen, and this is my younger friend, Li Mo. We arrived late to sign up today and haven't had our spiritual roots tested yet.
"Brother Duan, could you tell us a little about the situation? You seem like a cultivator yourself."
