The distant forest was a scene of utter devastation. Everywhere the eye could see, trees and grass had been snapped, flattened, and shattered into splinters, while the earth looked as if it had been turned over once, covered entirely in fresh mud. At the very center, one could vaguely make out that it had once been a small mountain, but now the peak had vanished outright, leaving behind a pitted stretch of ground.
On the mountain that had lost its peak, a Three-Tailed Fox Demon, its entire body blood red and missing its right leg and three tails, had its huge mouth open and clamped around the Winged Azure Wolf's neck.
One of the Winged Azure Wolf's wings had only half of it left, while the other had disappeared without a trace. A silver javelin thicker than a telephone pole had pierced through its spine from top to bottom, pinning it to the ground.
With its neck bitten by the Three-Tailed Fox Demon and its body unable to move, the Winged Azure Wolf raised one claw, its sharp wolf talons stabbing straight into the Three-Tailed Fox Demon's chest.
Both sides were drenched in blood, staining the entire mountainside crimson.
"Raaagh~~~~~!" Feeling the heart-piercing pain in its chest, the Three-Tailed Fox Demon let out an even more savage sound. Its eyes were like those of a demon from hell, utterly cold and indifferent.
It directly gave up using its remaining foreleg for support, pressing the full weight of its upper body onto the wolf claw the Winged Azure Wolf had stabbed into its chest.
On the foreclaw it had freed, sharp claw-blades sprang out. With lightning speed, it stabbed into the eye on the intact half of the Winged Azure Wolf's face, piercing the eyeball and driving deeper, until it punctured
