Because they were raising the children themselves, Wang Yan and Wei Lan stayed home all day, working remotely. Even when they went out for a walk, they waited until the children were asleep before getting a little fresh air downstairs.
The house was lively enough. A-Mao and A-Gou were both energetic, finally having people around to keep them company. Every so often, the two babies took turns crying and fussing, making it all feel wonderfully warm.
Of course, that was only possible because Wang Yan had boundless energy. Otherwise, caring for two children alone would have exhausted a person in both body and mind. Looking after children was truly tiring work. Yet he was the one watching the babies, teasing the cat and dog, handling three meals a day, dealing with work, and at the same time providing Wei Lan with so-called emotional support. Anyone else would have collapsed from exhaustion long ago.
Though if it really were someone else, they probably would not be exhausting themselves by raising the children personally. Maternity and childcare services were already quite well developed these days...
It was an ordinary day. Wei Lan was in the study, petting the dog as she handled the company's routine affairs. Wang Yan worked in the living room, stroking A-Mao while keeping an eye on the children.
A-Gou liked Wei Lan because it had spent the most time with Wang Yan. Every morning, Wang Yan practically scared the life out of it, so if possible, it wanted to stay as far away from him as it could.
A-Mao had it much easier. It did not go outside to run and exercise; it simply did parkour around the house. Since Wang Yan had never put it through harsh training, it naturally stayed closer to him...
"Ding-dong..."
