What no one expected was that Mordred caught her own king's sword with her body.
The king's sword sank deep into Mordred's shoulder.
The wound looked much like Artoria's.
Then Mordred moved all four limbs at once, forcing Lancelot's arm in place.
With both hands, she strained to pull the king's sword out from under Lancelot's control.
Fueled by sheer determination, she managed it. Though her arm was wounded and Lancelot's stats were explosively high with Arondight in hand, Mordred kicked out with both legs and wrenched her king's sword back.
At that moment, Arondight, which had been swinging toward Artoria, suddenly changed course.
Mordred had successfully drawn its aggro.
Arondight struck Mordred, then savagely hacked into her, shattering her armor and sending her crashing to the ground.
"Mordred!" Artoria's eyes widened as she stared at the Horned Helmet lying before her.
At last, Gawain managed to rush over.
He slammed into Lancelot, knocking him aside.
"Tch, this sucks. Father King, am I worthy of becoming king?" Mordred opened her Horned Helmet, revealing a face much like Artoria's.
"No. You can't become king. I'm the only one who can." Artoria looked at Mordred, her expression as resolute as ever.
"Is that so? How boring." Mordred sounded displeased.
"By the Command Seals, Mordred, recover from your wounds." Kiritsugu Emiya barely managed to keep his wits about him. Pain wracked his entire body, and he felt as though he were about to die.
He had already been unable to move because Unlimited Blade Works had pushed his body to four times its normal speed. If not for Mordred, Enkidu's Wisdom of the People would probably have killed him just now.
Now, he supposed, it was only fair that she repay the favor.
His grievous wounds left him unaware of what was happening,
