If this had been somewhere else, Hendrick's Church would probably have been a little more restrained.

After all, some petty thieves might not even realize that their "own people" were among their victims.
They also took on some rather unusual theft jobs.
For example, if someone had a deadbeat who owed them money, they could ask the Church of Renard to deal with him.
The people of the Church of Renard would steal valuables from the deadbeat up to the amount owed and "complete the job." Of course, if he genuinely had no money, there wasn't much they could do.
