The Night Mother's destructive power was far lower than that of most ordinary S+ ranked espers, and even lower than that of some S ranked espers. But anyone who underestimated her because of that would be in for a nasty surprise.
She was simply bad at attacking physical targets. Of course, "bad" only applied when she was up against powerful or unusually gifted S and S+ ranked espers. Espers below S rank couldn't even compare to one of her toes.
But when it came to attacking people, the Night Mother was more terrifying than four or five Feiyehs combined.
It all came down to how unusual her abilities were.
During her fight with Feiyeh, she'd used a great many special skills. Bai Fu recognized at least a few:
Stealing a percentage of a target's life based on the difference in their attributes; absorbing a target's life to restore her own; inflicting a debuff that lowered a target's attributes and resistances more the longer it lasted; temporarily turning her flesh-and-blood body into mist to dodge attacks; and gaining a greater damage bonus the more life she absorbed.
Her ability wasn't especially overpowered against a single opponent. But in a one-versus-many fight, it was downright ferocious.
Take a swarm of insects, for example.
When Feiyeh faced a massive number of Dark Domain insects, she either had to charge in and kill them or pull back and charge up a huge area-of-effect attack. Either way, it took time and energy.
The Night Mother, on the other hand, didn't need to dodge at all. She could simply stand in the middle of the swarm, activate her skill, and wait for every insect to be drained dry.
