Bai Fu's strength had grown rapidly, far surpassing that of ordinary S-Rank espers. Even so, capturing an S-Rank esper alive was no easy feat under normal circumstances.
There were three main reasons she had been able to take Sean down so easily this time.
The first was that Sean had been far too careless. He'd been punched by Big Hei Fu right off the bat, then surrounded by the Spiritual Energy Legion.
The second was that the battle had taken place aboard a mining ship. The terrain limited Sean's options, and he'd been afraid to use many of his abilities in case he wrecked the ship and got flung into outer space. S-Rank espers could survive in a vacuum for a long time, but then he'd have to leave his fate to chance. If he ran into a spatial distortion or a cannon blast, he'd be as good as dead.
The third reason was that Bai Fu's Advanced Force Field had become terrifyingly powerful after she'd maxed it out. Even Sean, an S-Rank esper, couldn't break free the instant he was caught in it. All he could do was watch as Bai Fu planted a boot in his face.
