Mita's Plan; Bai Fu Officially Opens the Star-Sea Era [Happy Mid-Autumn Festival]
For the people aboard Mita's fleet, this trip to Golden Valley Star had been nothing short of a nightmare.
They had come thirsting for blood, and for a while they'd thought they were in for an entertaining game of cat and mouse. But once they actually reached Golden Valley Star, they realized Bai Fu was the cat—and a ferocious white cat from the Dark Domain at that!
They'd thrown everything they had at her, but in the end, Bai Fu had still toyed with them as easily as if they were in the palm of her hand.
Their commander had died a horrible death. Of six S+-Rank superhumans, three were dead and one had defected. The dimensional fragments they'd used to trap Bai Fu had become a cage for themselves. And just when they'd finally been freed from the dimensional fragments, the combined fleets of the Star Network and other civilizations had come after them...
All of it had nearly driven the people aboard Mita's fleet insane.
Fortunately, there was still a way out. When the combined fleet launched its final assault, each ship had been so eager to claim the credit that they'd accidentally left an opening. Mita's fleet seized the chance, and in the end, four ships managed to break through the encirclement and activate their jump engines.
"Did we... survive?"
Pavel, who had been hastily elected as their new commander, stared at the jump engine's status bar on the virtual screen. For a moment, it all felt unreal.
It wasn't until the people around him started cheering that he realized this wasn't some beautiful fantasy before his death.
He had really survived!
He had really survived the clutches of that terrifying demon, Bai Fu!
