Months ago, the Head of State had already considered hiring Bai Fu to "deal with" the Glorious Force. But when he brought it up at a relevant meeting, most of the officials opposed his proposal.
The opponents felt that although hiring Bai Fu to deal with the Glorious Force would greatly cut costs, reduce casualties, and make their attacks far more effective, there was one major drawback.
"If Bai Fu does everything, what are we supposed to do? Serve her tea and water, rub her feet and massage her shoulders? Won't that make us look completely useless?"
"The military won't agree to it either. If they refuse to cooperate, things will get very troublesome."
So no, they couldn't hire Bai Fu!
Faced with the officials' objections, the Head of State said little. He simply shrugged, perfectly calm.
Let them object.
He did intend to make use of Bai Fu, but not yet.
The Taim Civilization was still too peaceful. There was no point inviting Bai Fu over now, and he couldn't actually have her kill the Glorious Force.
And so,
for more than half a year, Bai Fu's public appeal to the Taim Civilization received no response from the Head of State's residence. That only dragged his already abysmal approval rating even lower.
"Cowardly, foolish, jealous of the talented!"
All kinds of insults were hurled at the Head of State.
As the struggles between the Taim Civilization's factions became more and more obvious, and tensions rose in its governorates and states, the insults grew even harsher.
As she browsed the latest news aboard the ship, Bai Fu couldn't help muttering to herself.
