Rufus sent his clone out from the base to fight, drastically weakening its defenses.
At that moment, aside from the carefully constructed defense system, the base held only Dayhide, a Dominator stationed there permanently, and two Disaster-class superhumans responsible for defending the area.
That was already a formidable force by the standards of an Edge World.
Unfortunately, Dayhide and the others had run into Bai Fu, who had come prepared and launched a surprise attack!
Kabaye smashed Dayhide out of the base with a single slap. By the time Dayhide realized something was wrong and tried to return, Kabaye and the Praying Angel, who had arrived moments later, had him caught between them.
Dayhide's primary class was level 161.
He was weaker than Zef, and even weaker than Kade.
The outcome of the battle was therefore obvious.
Dayhide was getting tossed around like a spinning top—or, more accurately, Kabaye and the Praying Angel were batting him back and forth like a ping-pong ball.
On one side was a power-type behemoth whose fists and palms could shatter stars. On the other was the soul of a mage, the Praying Angel, who commanded countless Spiritual Energy Summoning Card skills. With a casual flick, she unleashed a dizzying barrage of abilities. The most infuriating part was that every one of them was viciously underhanded.
Dayhide charged left and right, but no matter which way he ran, he wound up bruised and battered.
In a matter of seconds, he felt as sick as if he'd swallowed a fly.
He recognized her. The attacker was Bai Fu!
Why was Bai Fu here?
No.
This wasn't the time to dwell on that. Dayhide repeatedly tried to contact Rufus, but the Virtual Heart's blockade rendered all his efforts useless.
It was over!
Dayhide was overcome by despair.
