Although she had already been inclined to work with Rufus, Bai Fu didn't agree right away.
She still had two concerns.
First, could she and Rufus, together with the Three Universal Civilizations, really kill the leader of the First Agreement?
Second, if they did manage to kill the leader of the First Agreement, would Rufus honor their deal and hand over the True Spirit Marrow afterward?
Both goals seemed incredibly difficult to achieve.
"Neither the leader of the First Agreement nor Rufus is easy to deal with. They're both cunning, and their raw strength is clearly greater than mine right now."
"To get rid of the leader of the First Agreement and make Rufus hand over the True Spirit Marrow, I have to become even stronger."
The problem was...
"If I can't get the True Spirit Marrow, I can't complete my third metamorphosis and level up further. But if I can't level up further, there's a good chance I won't get the True Spirit Marrow... Damn it!"

The situation was looking bad.
Was she supposed to turn down Rufus's offer, just like that?
No.
Who knew whether she'd ever find the True Spirit Marrow again if she passed up this chance? Even if she did find it, the longer this dragged on, the more likely the situation would spiral out of control before she had time to grow stronger.
It looked like she could only find other ways to improve herself.
For example, she could further increase her species potential, or collect all the advanced dark-energy knowledge and gather more color-grade Prayer Card blueprints.
