When Bai Fu opened the official patch notes, the first thing she saw was a small tree.
The tree looked unusual. Its shape was peculiar—like two thick vines entwined—and even its colors were extraordinary.
One half was white, the other black. Seen from above, the two colors intertwined, bringing to mind the yin-yang symbol.
"?"
A question mark appeared above Bai Fu's head.
Although the developers had posted the image, they hadn't provided any explanation.
So what exactly did this tree represent?
Was it just there to match the phrase "Light and Dark Entanglement" in the patch notes' title?
Probably not!
As far as Bai Fu knew, the developers were always sparing with words when making version previews and trailers. They never included any text or footage that wasn't necessary.
That meant the tree would probably play an important role in the story to come.
"I'll make a note of it and ask around later. Maybe someone will recognize it."
Bai Fu continued reading.
Next, the developers introduced the theme of version 3.0.
Light and dark intertwined across the sea of stars.
Light and dark referred not only to the Three Universal Civilizations, who stood in the open, and the Apostle Holy City and The First Agreement, which had once lurked in the shadows, but also to this growing age and the exiled past, to Ai Li Jie and Bai Fu, to those who fought for tomorrow and those who swallowed hope with their desires, and more.
Clearly, in the developers' eyes, light and dark were an extremely expansive theme.
Still, to make the theme more concrete, the developers had singled out Ai Li Jie and Bai Fu as representative examples.
The bringer of light, Ai Li Jie: a rising star of the revolutionary army, fighting for a new order.
