After learning that the High God Disciple was preparing to use the [Artificial God] secret art, the newly appointed head of the Inquisition immediately ordered everyone in the fleet to tighten their formation. They built an immensely imposing interstellar fortress, with the Idol-class motherships as its heart, the Supreme-class warships as its arteries, and the Creed-class warships as its branching veins.
The strange maneuver left Dmitry and the others puzzled.
But at this point, they could no longer retreat. They could only gather all their strength and slam it heavily into the "turtle shell" built by Apostle Holy City, like a clenched fist.
Break through!
The shouts of countless commanders throughout the fleet merged into a terrifying force powerful enough to shake the stars.
Beneath the dark red starry sky, surging energy crashed against the combined shield generated by millions of motherships. The dark-energy conduits, built with warships of a lower class as their nodes, shook violently, like strips of paper fluttering in the wind, ready to snap at any moment.
Yet in the end, they did not break.
"Again! This time, request an overlimit strike from the Light of Extinction!"
Dmitry refused to accept it and immediately called the frontline command for support.
The Light of Extinction was the most powerful weapon the Rebirth Empire had built to date. Once its energy reached the overlimit point, its instant burst of power was enough to overwhelm even a Transcendent who had undergone three metamorphoses.
Naturally, a weapon of such overwhelming power came with plenty of restrictions.
For instance, the Light of Extinction had to cool down after each overlimit strike. This weakness could be worked around by building more of them.
The problem was that the Rebirth Empire simply didn't have enough time to build more Light of Extinction weapons.
