During the Hundred-Year Land-Island War, the Gallic Empire had served as the main battlefield. While suffering devastating wounds as a nation, it had also forged an army hailed as the strongest on the continent. Though forty years of peace had gradually steeped the Empire's nobility in extravagance and decadence, the roots of this continent's greatest army remained. It still possessed the formidable strength to intimidate every nation across the continent.
The first line of defense against the foreign races of the Odin Continent and the Five Great Linked Islands, Norman Fortress was the continent's strongest defensive line. The Norman Army Group was where the Empire's elite troops gathered.
Apart from the Norman Army Group, the Empire's Berely Army Group was its largest main battle force, with the greatest combat power and finest equipment. As Norman Fortress's reserve line of defense, the Berely Army Group possessed fifteen standing regular legions, along with more than thirty reserve and registered militia legions. At the heart of the Berely Army Group stood the garrison legions of the imperial capital, Berely.
