The entire day passed without incident.
Other than a few squads of orc cavalry wandering over to Enzo's camp to spy on it for a while, everything else was fine.
As night gradually fell, Enzo's camp blazed with lights. Large groups of soldiers patrolled back and forth, while several robed mages flew into the sky and warily scanned their surroundings. Wave after wave of detection winds spread outward, lest the orcs launch a night raid.
They put on such a tense defensive posture for the outside world, yet within the camp, Alda and Enzo were directing the Forsaken People in a ridiculous undertaking that left one not knowing whether to laugh or cry. These lean, hardened Forsaken People hauled great quantities of messy flesh and gore from sacks, flinging and scattering it everywhere along with thick blood plasma.
Chunks of flesh, large and small, and minced meat covered the ground. Mixed among the scraps and blood were broken arrowheads and spearheads, as well as deliberately torn fragments of military banners, armor, shields, and the like. At a glance, it looked exactly like human corpses that had been forcibly blasted apart by powerful battle qi.
Fearing there was not enough blood on the ground, Alda had several thousand Forsaken People carry lively livestock such as pigs and sheep, slit their throats, and run wildly throughout the camp. Blood splashed everywhere, and the camp was permeated by a pungent stench of blood.
Alda then had the Forsaken People scatter black powder throughout the camp. Whenever the livestock blood and meat came into contact with the powder, the pungent bloody smell they gave off became indistinguishable from that of human blood.
Circles of swirling wind rose around the camp, sealing the pungent stench of blood within. Not a trace of it escaped.
