Across the Seine River, the forest fire had burned half the sky crimson. Without ten days to half a month, the blaze would never burn itself out.
On this side of the Seine River, the mountains and woods had already sunk into darkness. As night fell, the beasts in the pine forest silently left their dens and began their habitual nocturnal hunt. Meanwhile, the barbarian War God and his followers found an unlucky black bear, killed it with a single punch, and took over its den.
It was a cave large enough to house more than a hundred campers. The barbarian warriors had lit a bonfire at its entrance. Its former owner had been carved into dozens of huge chunks of meat, now roasting over the flames and sending out a rich aroma.
