The imperial forces now gathered around the Caesar Imperial Capital included, aside from the Royal Guard Legion responsible for the capital's daily defense, ten fully organized legions made up of veterans recalled from the major provinces surrounding the capital.

Though they were called fully organized legions, these soldiers were in fact hardened veterans who had once served in the Caesar Empire's elite legions. Although they had been out of the army for some time, they still retained their full combat strength. So long as they donned armor, picked up weapons, and underwent a little coordinated training, they would become a formidable elite force.

And the commander-in-chief of these ten elite legions was naturally Octavian, the Minister of War most trusted by Caesar Emperor Ulysses III, his childhood friend, known as the Blood Guillotine.
