Grisko Dawn stared with utmost gravity at the black wooden spear thrust toward him. He raised a hand and traced a circle before himself. The limpid holy crown above his head, clear as rippling water, emitted a faint glow, and an exceedingly thin shield woven from white flames silently appeared before him.

The black wooden spear slammed heavily into the light shield. Piercing shrieks rang out in waves, while thick black smoke continually sprayed from the point of contact. The pungent smoke billowed forth, only to be swiftly burned away by the white flames.

Grisko Dawn's body trembled slightly. Although his face showed little strain, the stone tiles beneath his feet had already been shaken into fine powder. The holy crown above his head released vast swathes of pure radiance, continuously pouring into his body.

Seeing that Grisko Dawn seemed unable to withstand the spear, the Pope of the Seal hurriedly raised his scepter. The enormous figure muttered deeply, "What is there to say to lower lifeforms like you, who have not even fully evolved? Other than the inborn instinct to obey orders, what else do you possess?"
